  • The Carlton Heritage & Learning Centre in Glasgow was the venue for our latest Network Get Together on Wednesday - the Fire Risk Assessment Masterclass was brilliantly delivered by our fire safety specialist Ian Robertson. A fantastic day which saw almost 30 members from 12 different member organisations come together. We were also delighted to be joined by James Clark who came to see what we were talking about! With a remit to give recommendations for competence criteria to be met by individuals undertaking general fire risk assessments in occupied buildings, BS 8674 is based upon the work done in the Fire Sector Federation’s approved code of practice for fire risk assessors, and on the recommendations and competence criteria set out in BS 8670-1. This half-day information filled training session is aimed at colleagues operating within the social housing sector at any level, including customer contact staff, maintenance and property colleagues and anyone who requires a good level of non-technical awareness training.
