🌟 Last week, we hosted Empowered Journeys: Women Leading the Way at BT – One Braham, a fantastic event dedicated to breaking barriers in STEM, finance, and gaming! Our incredible panel of women shared their experiences and practical advice on thriving in male-dominated industries. Attendees also took part in a confidence-building workshop, had professional headshots taken, and joined a LinkedIn optimisation session—all aimed at helping them advance in their careers. From today, online platforms must follow some of the important new Ofcom safety measures related to illegal content. The UK's tech sector is booming, yet women and non-binary individuals remain significantly underrepresented. The Tech Talent Charter's 2024 report reveals only 29% of the tech workforce are women and non-binary individuals, a mere 1% increase from the previous year. At this rate, the WomenTech Network estimates it will take over 130 years to close the economic gender gap. That's why this International Women's Day, we want to spotlight TechUpWomen; a trailblazing programme we deliver that is developed in collaboration with industry experts. TechUPWomen is tackling the UK's digital skills gap by providing women from underserved groups with the skills and training they need to succeed in the tech industry.
