Hey Bab! We always love the chance to showcase our beautiful venue - and what better opportunity to do so than when the Birmingham based musical, NOW That’s What I Call A Musical, arrived in the city this week. Cast from the show, Nina Wadia OBE, Sam Bailey and Sonia, spoke with BBC Midlands Today’s Ben Sidwell to talk about this new musical (and the distinctive brummy accent) before audiences got to share their experiences on opening night. On Tuesday, we welcomed students from University College Birmingham studying Hair and Media Make-Up for a theatre tour hosted by Simon Creed. The students were given an insight into the workings of a busy theatre, and were treated to a sneak peek of areas like our orchestra pit, wardrobe and much more. Thank you to the students and Melissa Hurlbutt for joining us! If you are interested in a tour of The Alex for you and your colleagues/students, be sure to drop our Head of Marketing and Communications, Sarah McCarthy, a message.

Yesterday LiveWell Health came to the theatre to deliver a variety of sessions to promote wellbeing in the workplace. Simon Creed said "In today’s high-paced UK work culture, prioritising well-being is crucial and ATG feel the same way." Sessions included workplace massages, yoga and reflexology all led by the wonderful Jenny, Zoe and Sarah from LiveWell. Safe to say, Team Alex are feeling refreshed!

Earlier this week Birmingham commuters and passers-by were treated to moments of gold, as cast members from Bat Out of Hell performed 'All Coming Back to Me Now' on the concourse of Birmingham New Street Station. Spectators flocked to listen to the vocally flawless performance from Glenn Adamson, Katie Tonkinson, Sharon Sexton & Rob Fowler. 🔌 Al Dawkins, Cannock Sound Hire Ltd 📷 Mark Radford
