  • 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴   In a letter to Property Week’s editor, Lem Bingley, The Association for Rental Living CEO, Brendan Geraghty, reiterates the Association’s call for mandatory Build to Rent training for all planning committees and certain mayoral planning functions. Also featured in today's Daily Telegraph supplement: the Future of Property.   These calls to government follow the introduction of the Planning and Infrastructure Bill last week within which mandatory training is proposed.   Brendan comments:   “With the ability to deliver two million additional quality rental homes, BTR is an essential part of a diversified housing mix, one that the government itself has recognised in the revised National Planning Policy Framework. As a result, a full understanding of the BTR proposition and development dynamics is vital for local planning committees and officials.   “Pulling the BTR lever is a proven way of increasing the speed and volume of housing delivery, as well as attracting investment into the UK. The government must build on its planning reforms to remove barriers to large-scale investment in housing and increase its support for the rental living sector.”   Read the full letter here: https://lnkd.in/eRt9NghP   We’re supporting the Future of Property campaign from Mediaplanet. Following an introduction from ISSG Chair, Dame Judith Hackitt, an overview of Building Safety Regulator insight work on culture change and the work of Building a Safer Future was presented. Workshops followed along with commitments of action by those in attendance, in the presence of Minister for Building Safety, Alex Norris MP. #Buidlingsafetyact, #Buildingsafetyregulator, #Buildtorent
