Last week we supported Cycling UK with the addition of 10 Raleigh UK Ltd Motus e-bikes to their fleet as part of the Inclusive Cycling Experience in Greater Manchester. 🚲 Funded by the Motability Foundation, this exciting new programme will support disabled communities in Greater Manchester to start cycling through free try-out sessions and non-standard cycle loans. A smooth handover of some TERNs for Nottingham City Council! 🚲 These bikes will be used as part of a national trial that's researching how active travel can help manage health conditions through walking or cycling. Nottingham is one of 11 areas to take part in the trial and these bikes will be available soon as part of their E-Bike library initiative. "I am so pleased to have worked with The Electric Bike Shop. They were most helpful when we were searching a local supplier of TERN bikes. It is great they were able to facilitate a ‘green’ way of getting the bikes from their shop in West Bridgford to the base at Harvey Hadden. The bikes we ordered will help local residents who are ‘prescribed’ active travel. This project, funded by Active Travel England, seeks to find out whether referrals to active travel can make a real difference to people’s lives. Nottingham City Council have branded our trial Travel Well and once this e-bike library is established we can loan out a range of adapted bikes for residents to try." - Nottingham City Council In the meanwhile, you can check out Nottingham's Travel Well scheme, where you can find lots of information on active travel and supporting events going on in the city.
