What do you do if you want to study the bar course but did not get an inn of court scholarship? The short answer is that there are other scholarships available! I wrote this blog several months ago hence it may be slightly out of date but I hope that it will be helpful in setting out which providers there are in one place. I would however double check that they are running their scholarship this year. For example, for those who have a family pupillage secured come May, there is the Flba scholarship. For those studying in the Midlands, the Midland Circuit have a scholarship scheme. Please see the blog post below for more! I do relate to the feeling of not getting an inn of court scholarship, as I was unsuccessful my first time round. I appreciate that it is a very disappointing feeling and can knock your confidence. I chose to apply again, which is a good option because you have another year to study or work and gain valuable experience which will ultimately be helpful for your pupillage applications and career in general. You may also wish to apply to a different inn with a different scholarship process (which is what I did). The Sir Mota Singh Mooting Competition Final The Sir Mota Singh Mooting Competition final will take place at the Royal Courts of Justice at 5:30 PM on 28 March 2025, where participants will argue their case before a panel of inspirational and formidable judges and silks—an outstanding all-female lineup.
