I am proud to represent IBIA at #IPEC2024, speaking on the panel, ‘How the Marine Fuels Sector Can Adapt to a Low-Carbon and Green Shipping’ in Zhoushan. I emphasised that the global push for decarbonisation is not just a regulatory mandate but a call for leadership, innovation, and collaboration. It was also encouraging to see Zhoushan Port taking a significant step forward with the certification of its first bunker tanker fitted with MFM in accordance with ISO 22192 Standards by Metcore International Pte Ltd. IBIA proudly supported the Marine Money Conference today in Athens. Alexander Prokopakis and Sofia Konstantopoulou represented IBIA at this well-attended event, which focused on the financial aspects of the shipping industry. Alexander Prokopakis moderated the panel on ‘Greek Shipping and the Road Towards Decarbonisation,’ where shipowners and industry experts discussed the current challenges and strategies for meeting future decarbonisation targets. It was a valuable discussion highlighting the industry’s pathway to a more sustainable future.
