We can target your support across every need to ensure no one is left behind. The Commando Mindset isn’t always enough, with your help the Royal Marines Family will win their battles. Our Vision Royal Marines and their families supported through life. Our Mission To provide the best possible through life charitable support for Royal Marines, their families, veterans and cadets. Our Purpose We are a single, unified and integrated charity for the Royal Marines extended Corps family, where cadets, the serving Corps, veterans and families are supported through life with benevolence, comradeship, transition support and amenities, underpinned with a cohesive sense of heritage and esprit de corps.

  • Starting the week off with some Monday motivation as the All Arms Commando Course were drummed back into camp, following their 9-mile speed march (9 miles, 32lbs of kit, 90 minutes). The AACC lasts for 13 weeks and is run by the Royal Marines with the goal of preparing Navy, Army or Air Force personnel by developing the temperament, mental resolve, physical robustness and core military skills. #RMfamily #MondayMotivation

  • Next week, on Sunday 21st July, the Veteran Speed March will be taking place. Consisting of a team of 11 impressive Royal Marine Veterans, they will be completing a circular route from the Graspan Memorial to complete the world's first all RM Veteran speed march over a 26-mile route through London, carrying 40lbs. Living the mantra ‘It’s a state of mind’, the team is re-defining what it means to be a Veteran as they are no longer fresh-faced recruits. All members of the team, aged between 45 and 61, are pushing themselves to their limits. Over the last year, each member of this team has spent time training, regularly meeting up and completing training packages as a team across the country, including a 16-mile route over Capel Curig in Wales, and most recently, they successfully completed their final team run through over 18 miles at CTC Lympstone on Saturday 22nd June. This challenge is spearheaded by Barry ‘Baz’ Gray, a retired Royal Marine, and legendary Polar Explorer. He decided to create this challenge to raise funds for RMA – The Royal Marines Charity as well as help promote, share, and raise awareness of Veterans mental health issues. Having a project like this to focus on and a purpose in life can transform it from one of utter boredom and depression to one of excitement and fulfilment. This event is already changing lives and inspiring many veterans to get up, get active, and find a bit of their old selves. The Speed March will commence at 05:30 and will both start and finish at the Graspan Memorial, passing some of the major sites in London. If you are in London and would like to watch this momentous achievement, come along and cheer the team on. • On 23rd June, RMA Gig Club Chairman Neil (Flo) Flower embarked on a challenging 100km ride as part of the Dartmoor Classic Cycle 170km/100km Sportive. Flo cycled over Dartmoor's bleak and hilly countryside along with another 1500 riders of all ages and cycling abilities. Setting off from Newton Abbot racecourse via Kingsteignton to the start and finish line, the competitors had to navigate their selected route, either 60km, 100km or the massive 170km to achieve their best times. The route took the cyclists through Bovey Tracey, Haytor, Holne, Dartmeet, Two Bridges, Pricestown, Postbridge and Moretenhampstead, before heading back to Newton Abbot through Kingsteignton, bringing the whole route to a total of 110km. The route involved seven nominated climbs, with a King of Mountains (KOM) competition totalling 1900m of climbing. Flo had the riding support of his two sons, which spurred him to achieve the 100km in a time of 5hrs 5 mins and win a silver medal for his age category. The RMA Gig Club is now focusing their efforts on their Great River Race (GRR) which is due to take place this September. They will be completing the 22-mile race along the River Thames in their pilot Gig Boats to raise funds for RMA- Royal Marines Charity. of all ages and cycling abilities. • The latest updates from RM Sports Association for June. It was a busy month for RM Sport that saw the inaugural RM Rowing championships at CTC which enabled individuals and teams to enter via live stream. The event was a huge success and will hopefully be a permanent CG Trophy fixture going forward. A special mention to RM Paddlesports who have raised over £50k and still counting as part of their paddling exploits this year which have included, the Devizes to Westminster and D-Day Landing paddle. Other paddles are scheduled including the Commando paddle so yet more opportunity to raise vital funds for our Charity. #RMfamily
