𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤’𝐬 "𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 RugbyDAO," 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 Matt Hymers, 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐯𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲. Matt Hymers, CEO & Co-Founder of Connected Fanatics, is a pioneer in sports tech, fan engagement, and sustainability. His platform, LOCKEROOM, seamlessly integrates NFC-enabled merchandise with exclusive content, immersive digital experiences, and private communities. Through his The British & Irish Lions partnership along with Howden, Canterbury, and SportOS, he is transforming how teams connect with fans, fostering deeper engagement, loyalty, and sustainable innovation. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐛𝐲? Rugby has been a lifelong constant. Growing up in Johannesburg, I watched KES schoolboy games and joined my father at Loftus to support the Bulls, idolising legends like Naas Botha, Joost Vd Westhuizen and Uli Schmidt. Witnessing historic moments like the 1994 All Blacks Test and the 1995 Rugby World Cup Final deepened my love for the sport. I played at school, club, and university levels while balancing work and studies. Straight out of school, I became an analyst for Ewen McKenzie (Waratahs) and Eddie Jones (Wallabies), coached schoolboy teams, and supported the Australian U/19s. No matter where I’ve lived, the local rugby club has always been a home, shaping my career and reinforcing the game’s values in everything I do. 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭? At Adidas, I contributed to groundbreaking projects, working with top teams, coaches, and athletes. Highlights include: ▪️ Spending a day learning with José Mourinho ▪️Training at AC Milanello with Zlatan Ibrahimović and Gennaro Gattuso ▪️Testing rugby jerseys with the All Blacks ▪️Kicking a ball with Cafu, Valderrama, Vieira, and Hierro in Rio ▪️Attending a Champions League final in London ▪️Experiencing Chelsea vs. Liverpool and a Rugby World Cup final on the same day This experience shaped my approach to sports performance, management, and fan engagement through tech. 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬? RugbyDAO is an extension of my lifelong experience in rugby uniting rugby people on a level playing field, pushing the sport into unexplored territory. It’s a way for me to give back to the game that has given me so much. For anyone wanting to work in sport, my advice is simple: 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭 – Work hard, focus your passion, and stay persistent. If you commit fully, you’ll achieve your goals. 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 – The journey will be tough, but don’t give up. Keep pushing forward, take risks, and seize every opportunity that comes your way. #innovation #DAO

𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤’𝐬 “𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 RugbyDAO," 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 Peter Scrivener, 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐯𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲. Peter is a former professional rugby union player who had a distinguished career with London Wasps from 1992 to 2003. During his tenure, he made 122 first-team appearances, primarily playing as a No.8, and scored 25 tries, amassing 125 points. He contributed to the team’s success in securing two Tetley's Bitter Cups, three Premiership titles, and one Heineken Cup. On the international stage, he represented England at U18s, U21s, England A, Sevens, and also played for the Barbarians. In 2005, he founded Wasps Legends, which evolved into the Wasps Legends Charitable Foundation in 2011, where he continues to serve as a trustee. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? My passion stems from my diverse background in football, cricket, rugby, athletics, and basketball. Competing at a high level helped me appreciate the unique skill sets required for each sport. Inspired by Michael Jordan’s basketball legacy and my rugby and cricket progression, I developed a passion for sports. A career-ending rugby injury led me to explore health and wellness innovations. During the pandemic, when conventional medicine failed me, I discovered technologies like Hyperbaric Oxygen, Redlight Therapy, Cryotherapy, and Compression that aided my recovery. This inspired me to launch Biowell Health Ltd, focused on sports, wellness, and health. Innovation plays a significant role in my passion, as I believe these treatments represent the future of health and recovery. My personal journey and the impact of these technologies on my own health drive my commitment to bringing these innovative solutions to others. 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫? There are too many to mention, but my top 10 highlights are: ▪️ Wasps’ preseason tour to France at 18 years old with legends like Rob Andrew, Jeff Probyn, Dean Ryan, and Lawrence Dallaglio. ▪️ Winning the Premiership for the first time. ▪️ Winning the Tetley's Bitter Cup. ▪️ Winning the Parker Pen Shield. ▪️ Witnessing Va'aiga Tuigamala walk into a gym session! ▪️ Playing against Oxford Uni when Trevor Leota had his ear ripped off and still wanted to play! ▪️ Representing England 7s in Hong Kong. ▪️ Playing for Steele Bodgers XV and Major Stanleys before being selected for the Baa Baas. ▪️ Returning to Wasps as Commercial Director. ▪️ Creating The Wasps Legends Charitable Foundation. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫?   Surround yourself with great people and ask for help when needed! The RugbyDAO, Wasps Legends Charity, or any rugby community will support you if they can! SportOS #Legend
