𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐛𝐲?
Rugby has been a lifelong constant. Growing up in Johannesburg, I watched KES schoolboy games and joined my father at Loftus to support the Bulls, idolising legends like Naas Botha, Joost Vd Westhuizen and Uli Schmidt. Witnessing historic moments like the 1994 All Blacks Test and the 1995 Rugby World Cup Final deepened my love for the sport.
I played at school, club, and university levels while balancing work and studies. Straight out of school, I became an analyst for Ewen McKenzie (Waratahs) and Eddie Jones (Wallabies), coached schoolboy teams, and supported the Australian U/19s. No matter where I’ve lived, the local rugby club has always been a home, shaping my career and reinforcing the game’s values in everything I do.

At Adidas, I contributed to groundbreaking projects, working with top teams, coaches, and athletes. Highlights include:
▪️ Spending a day learning with José Mourinho
▪️Training at AC Milanello with Zlatan Ibrahimović and Gennaro Gattuso
▪️Testing rugby jerseys with the All Blacks
▪️Kicking a ball with Cafu, Valderrama, Vieira, and Hierro in Rio
▪️Attending a Champions League final in London
▪️Experiencing Chelsea vs. Liverpool and a Rugby World Cup final on the same day
This experience shaped my approach to sports performance, management, and fan engagement through tech.

RugbyDAO is an extension of my lifelong experience in rugby uniting rugby people on a level playing field, pushing the sport into unexplored territory. It’s a way for me to give back to the game that has given me so much.
For anyone wanting to work in sport, my advice is simple:
𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭 – Work hard, focus your passion, and stay persistent. If you commit fully, you’ll achieve your goals.
𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 – The journey will be tough, but don’t give up. Keep pushing forward, take risks, and seize every opportunity that comes your way.
