A few weeks ago, we challenged our sites to take part in a Halloween competition. Congratulations to our Bradford site for coming in 1st place, and well done to Peterborough for being our runners-up! A big thank you to all our sites that took part; they look fantastic! Happy Halloween! 🎃

We had a fantastic day at the Omada and Jaacoo Product Showcase at Thatcham Research. It was an excellent opportunity to learn more about emerging brands in the UK market and gain insights on the latest vehicle technology. Thanks to Thatcham for a informative and engaging event!

After a busy few weeks, our Manchester East site is slowly coming together! Recently, we have successfully completed the following: • The workshop floor has been sanded and painted, with top and bottom skirting installed. • The mezzanine staircase is completed, along with hush flooring on the mezzanine level. • External landscaping, pressure washing, and the delivery of the compressor have been completed. • The gas and air first fix is accomplished, and the workshop is now equipped with LED lighting. • The office and reception area have been decorated, including glass - partitioning and the installation of a canteen with white goods. • An alarm system and CCTV have been set up, and parts and storage containers have been organised. We are looking forward to seeing the final result! There are still roles to be filled at our site. Last week, our apprentices attended a sustainability training day at the LKQ Academy. The course took place over two days, with one day dedicated to apprentices from our North region and the other for our South region. In the morning, LKQ’s Head of Technical, Lee Berridge gave an introduction covering topics such as CO2 emissions and carbon reduction. The apprentices were then split into two groups: one focused on sustainable paint application, while the other worked with Plastrepair EU Limited on repairing and welding plastic parts. During the paint session, they used the Akzo Nobel Sikkens Aerodry range. Each apprentice had the opportunity to take part in practical exercises, and after lunch, the groups switched sessions. The two-day training event was a success, and our apprentices thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you to LKQ Bodyshop Division (UK & ROI) for having us, and to everyone who came along.
