  • F I R E W O R K S  N I G H T 🎇 Tonight, I am joined at Alexandra Palace in North London by my children Tia and Samuel, and Tia’s partner, Angel. It’s Fireworks Night and as it’s on one of the highest points in the capital, we’ve got the best view across London’s starry night. Ally Pally as it’s locally known, opened in 1873 on Queen Victoria's 54th birthday with a grand celebration including concerts, recitals and fireworks. Tragedy struck 16 days later when a fire broke out in the Palace. The grounds are buzzing as we arrived. As we descended through the park to the fairground, which is a festival of neon light, tempting my crew onto the Dodgems and then the Waltzer, something I feared as a child but kept getting back on to be spun into infinity. A wander around the darkened grounds, we were drawn to the biggest bonfire I’ve ever seen. I’ve no doubt that London Fire Brigade were somewhere in the background, waiting for the ‘shout’. It was agreed that we would probably best be served viewing the fireworks in front of the Palace itself. We were treated to a fabulous drone show and then the highlight of the night, the fireworks themselves. I can assure you that we were not short changed; it was literally silent as everyone took in the thunderous and colourful display. And then it was over. A short walk back to my trusty steed, with Tia and Angel drawing the short straw, forced to fold themselves into the back of the car – well Sam is 6ft these days and still growing!

  • On a crisp October day, Kimesha and Boniface tied the knot in a heartfelt wedding ceremony at St. Mary’s Church, Luton, a venue steeped in over a millennium of history. • G A R D E N W E D D I N G It’s a little damp today as I leave home for the drive up the M1. I will be assisting a wedding stylist. Arriving at the home of J&P, I discover a large marquee in the garden with 6ft round tables and Chiavari chairs which are nearly completed. The marquee is lined with fairy lights and the arbour decorated with flowers. The poolside will be decorated with various sized cylinder candle stick holders, filled with LED candles. • H A M P T O N  C O U R T  P A L A C E  is not one of the royal palaces I’ve had the pleasure to visit, despite living in London in all life. It was a bit of a schlep from north west London, but so worth the journey. What a beautiful place and, of course, filled with wonderful paintings, sculptures and history. The staff were so informed and happy to share their knowledge. Being a palace the gardens were exquisite; unsurprisingly, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown was asked by King George III to look after the gardens, which raised his profile amongst the nobility of the day. It’s definitely not the sort of palace you can take on in one day, which is why we decided to become members of ‘Historic Royal Palaces’, which deduct the cost of your ticket from the annual fee. Next stop Kensington Palace. @historicroyalpalaces #weddingplanner #londonweddings #royalweddings #fusionweddings #couplegoals #bridetobe2026 #newlyengaged

We're revisiting Simran & John's wedding back in May 2024. Such a beautiful marriage ceremony, conducted by a friend under a flower arch in their garden. Their guests welcomed the opportunity to dress or accessorise their outfits, in honour of Simran's Indian heritage. The stretch tent festooned in fairy lights, and The 5th House and DJ Jah rocking the music, I'm sure the party continued well into the night 🥳 Learn more about S&J's wedding on this link: bit.ly/3WqQw4s. It’s been a busy weekend with a wedding on the Saturday, and now as drive along a very sunny M25 on my way to Sadeh Farm in Kent, I’m fired up for my next project. The wedding today is for Bee and Rum, who have asked that their big day should remain genderless and their diverse community of friends, welcome. After a quick tour of the farm, Sherene, the wedding planner, who asked me to assist her today, has tasked me to help set up the tablescapes in the marquee. There are stacks of boxes filled with various sized plates, a full complement of cutlery and various props for the tables. I get started immediately laying plates, napkins and name cards as appropriate. At the bottom of the farm, through the willow arch, The Happy Chuppah People are building the Chuppah in the field, and The Copper Cacti are in the process of decorating it. Wooden benches are to be placed around the Chuppah for guests to be seated on. There are 25 of them and two fields to navigate: help! Sherene and I begin the long haul. Due to the weight of the benches, we can only carry one at a time. By the time we return to the marquee to pick up the next two, I'm a sweaty mess. The Calvary came in the form of Scott, who put the benches in his SUV and then carried the majority through the willow arch. I will be forever in his debt, as I was predicting an air ambulance being needed to take me to hospital after the day’s exertions. As a trickle of guests turn into a river, the Chuppah area begins filling up. Their special attendants and family, begin the procession to start the service under the Chuppah. Bee and Rum, suitably nervous and carrying their bouquets of wildflowers, follow behind. With the wine and drinks stored in the fridges, the Arapina Bakery cakes are put on display in the marquee and are beautifully presented. The caterers, Souper Food are in the kitchen prepping the canapes and wedding dinner, of which the smells are calling my name. The guests are now seated in the marquee, and DJ Ben from Bass Entertainment, welcomes the newly weds to their wedding reception to the Jurassic Park theme tune. And with drinks being poured and their dinner being served, the party begins. I hope Rum & Bee enjoyed their wedding day; their family and guests were having a ball by the time I left. Wishing you both a wonderful married life!

The Groom, all resplendent in cream, arrives to claim his Bride. Fashionably late (a mere hour), the Bride, beautiful in a pearl and bead encrusted dress, with a train of around 15ft and a veil to match, pours out of her wedding car. My carefully calibrated wedding schedule now in shreds, the Bride makes her way up the aisle to meet her soon-to-be husband. The drive to North Mymms Park was punctuated by a call from the Hubster. The Leke Levite band and DJ Neptizzle are having speaker issues, which I promise to resolve by the time I arrive in the next half hour. I proceed to park up and visit the Pavilion. Thankfully, the speaker problem has been resolved with the DJ and Band compromising...
