As part of their Northern Ireland trip, today The King and Queen visited Banbridge in Co Down where they met local organisations and businesses including Thompson Aero Seating. King Charles III engaged in conversation with Keith Anderson (CEO) and Jonny McGreevy (CTO), giving us the opportunity to showcase the world-class aircraft seating for which Thompson is well known—designed, tested and manufactured right here in Northern Ireland. Having previously experienced Thompson seats on official flights, today the Royals had the chance to see where those seats were made. We are delighted to have been part of such a significant royal visit—a fantastic moment to highlight the innovation and craftsmanship that go into delivering the best in premium air travel. We’re proud to celebrate the successful delivery to Delta Air Lines of the final shipset of a groundbreaking programme that began in 2017. With 1,131 seats delivered across 39 shipsets, this achievement reflects years of innovation and collaboration. After launching the Delta One Suite—the first all-suite Business Class cabin on the A350—Delta wanted to bring the same experience to the A330. Thompson Aero Seating rose to the challenge, delivering an industry-first suite door solution for the platform. A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible!

It’s very exciting to start the New Year with news that our enhanced Vantage business-class seat is now flying with Aer Lingus on its new A321XLR aircraft. The customisation of the Vantage seat has resulted in innovative features that will appeal to Aer Lingus’ passengers and a bold look that embodies the airline’s dynamic brand. We are delighted to see our County-Armagh designed, certified and manufactured seats taking pride of place on the newest aircraft within the fleet of the Irish flag-carrier.

2024 has been a monumental year for Thompson Aero Seating. Congratulations to Iberia on its launch of the very first A321 XLR. With the vision being to deliver twin-aisle premium service on single-aisle aircraft, our VantageSOLO was the perfect choice of business-class seat.  

It's incredible to think it's already been a year since we opened our world-leading Dynamic Test Facility (DTF). In that time, this cutting-edge facility has accelerated our R&D and live customer programme processes, enabling real-time testing and immediate feedback. With the recent launch of VantageNOVA a testament to this investment, our DNA to 'push the innovation envelope' continues. We wish 'happy birthday' to our crash-test dummy, Martin, with many more years, and cakes to come!
