    It's weeks like these when I have to take a moment to step back and appreciate how far we've come sicne we began our international expansion here at SMG. This week I had the pleasure of bringing my North America Team together for our first in person offsite day in the incredible city that is #LasVegas. In such a short space of time we've gone from a team of one to a dozen #retailmedia superstars dedicated to helping retailers accelerate their #retailmedianetwork capabilities, delivering upon our vision of truly data driven omnichannel RMNs rooted in transparent measurement that enhance the shopper experience. I truly believe we are still just scratching the surface of our North America journey and I come away from this week having reviewed our plans for the coming months filled with excitement at what the future holds for this team.     ⬅ Last week's IAB Connected Commerce Summit offered the opportunity to reflect on the year since the previous year's conference, where the IAB first debuted its retail media measurement standards. 📊 Amber Roberts, Partnership Director, says while the industry has made inroads, there's still room for growth, as evidenced by the new in-store retail media standards presented at this year's Connected Commerce Summit. 🗣 "While the IAB Retail Media Working Group’s efforts are commendable, there’s still a long way to go industry-wide in refining how we measure retail media’s effectiveness," says Amber. Myself, Justin Sparks and Samuel Knights chatted all things Retail Media, digesting the hot topics in the industry from the past couple of months. Some of the soundbites from this session I loved... ⭐ Don't believe the #hype, Retail Media isn't new. It’s actually just more exciting than ever. ⭐ Retail media is not a cash grab, and treating it as such will lead to failure. Above all else, retail media is media. The answer to who wins in this space—whether it’s a retailer or a business in finance or travel—is simple: businesses that use media to enhance #customer experience. Only these customer experience focused networks will come out on top. ⭐ Retail Media, whether in a physical store or a digital format, should be additive and data driven. That’s the key. Those who get the media #format, #messaging and #creative right will see brilliant results.
