Don’t underestimate the power of listening! 👂 Did you manage to join us for our free workshop last week where Gemma Brown (PCC) led a masterclass on using coaching skills as life skills? Over 100 women attended to learn about how to use coaching skills to make people feel heard and valued. It can help you to build better connections at work, improve your skill as leader and manager and can even help you as a parent, sibling, friend and more generally in life! But it’s certainly not as easy as you think! If you missed it, then why not join an upcoming session. We hold regular free events on issues that impact women in the workplace. But places go quickly so it’s best to sign up for our newsletter or check the events page on the website to find out what’s coming up. 🫶
Helping individuals and SMEs thrive by elevating their authenticity, purpose and direction through 1-2-1 and group coaching | confidence | well-being | leadership
What enables you to feel truly seen and heard? A few responses from this morning's workshop included: > When I'm being listened to > When I'm not being judged > When I'm not being told what to do > When I'm given someone's full attention > When the listener isn't on their phone or looking around > When I receive a constructive response to what I've shared These conditions may be obvious but they are quite rare. How often do we interrupt or talk over each other? How often are we listening to respond rather than to understand? How often are we distracted when someone is sharing something with us as a trusted party? We are all busy. Which is why it may be more important to offer someone your full attention without judgement and allow them to feel truly seen and heard. Do not underestimate the power of listening to someone else in your life. What would you add to this list? What enables you to feel seen and heard? **** A huge thanks to Jo and Thresholds Ltd for inviting me along to host this morning's coaching skills workshop. If you don't know Thresholds Ltd, go and give them a follow. They are an amazing organisation that supports women transform their careers via coaching, mentoring and free workshops, as well as with its 'Crossing Thresholds' programme. #coachingskills #seenandheard #coachingtoempower #empoweringwomen

📣 Free Event for Women: Places will go quickly! How often do you find yourself immediately offering advice or experience when someone close to you shares a challenge they face? It is a common reaction and a tool to building connection. However, by providing possible solutions, you may be getting in the way of them having an opportunity to take ownership, build confidence and grow through the experience. By utilising your own coaching skills, you enable others to tap into their inner resources. With active listening, open questioning and creating the right conditions, you can enable others to find the answers to their own problems. And you can also use these skills on yourself too. Come along to our free interactive workshop on Tue 8 October and find out how. This workshop will be led by personal & business coach Gemma Brown (PCC) and introduces you to essential coaching skills that can be applied within all your relationships to help self-confidence, effective problem-solving as well as giving someone the power of your full attention. Sign up via the link in the comments - places will go quickly! #freeworkshop #coachingskills #crossingthresholds #womeninleadership

Thank you for sharing your experience Ben Pye! It’s great to hear how much the programme has helped your colleague and others grow in confidence and career development. And we agree, reflecting on progress out loud really does highlight how far you've come 📣
For once this isn't a post about Food Fraud! On Friday I was invited to be a part of the graduation day of one of my team as they completed their year long Crossing Thresholds Ltd course. I had head about Crossing Thresholds on here before but never really knew too much about it. It was brilliant to see the group talk about how much they had learned over the past year, and amazing to hear the stories from their managers about how much the course had improved each woman's confidence in building their career. It was such a positive experience and I know that for my colleague it has really helped her improve in lots of ways but it was a great reminder that sometimes after a period of learning you need to say all those changes out loud to realise how far you have come.
