This #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate progress, but also recognise the urgent work still needed to break down systemic barriers—especially for women facing domestic violence and homelessness. ⭐ We need to accelerate action! ⭐ Did you know that women experiencing domestic abuse are more than twice as likely to experience homelessness. In fact, over 40% of women accessing homelessness services cite domestic violence as the primary cause. (Source: Women’s Aid) With the new Procurement Policy Note (PPN 02/24), the UK government is making this issue a priority by embedding domestic violence prevention into social value procurement. The updated Social Value Model encourages businesses to take action—whether through survivor employment opportunities, safeguarding policies, or partnerships with support organisations like Llamau | Sam Austin. At Thrive, we believe in the power of procurement to drive real-world change. This Monday, our Head of Social Value, Danielle Aberg, will be joining Llamau's International Women’s Day event—hosted by Women in Property Wales and sponsored by Principality Building Society | Julie-Ann Haines—to discuss how collective action and policy shifts can create safer, more supportive workplaces and communities. As businesses, we have both the responsibility and the opportunity to create impact and support organisations like Llamau.. Let’s use our platforms, influence, and networks to prioritise safety, opportunity, and support for survivors. Let’s turn policy into action. Let’s actually make a difference. #IWD2024 #SocialValue #PPN02 #EndDomesticViolence #SocialImpact #ProcurementForGood #WomenInBusiness #WomenInProperty

The new Social Value Model doesn’t just change the prioritised policy outcomes for public procurement and Model Award Criteria (MACs). It also changes the way that contracting authorities will ask the social value question in future tenders - and it looks like bidders will have to provide even more detail than before on: 🔹 How and when social value benefits will be delivered 🔹Who will be affected and how they will be reached 🔹Transparency on commitments and reporting 🔹Project governance and feedback procedures Take a look at the new Model Social Value Question (left) and compare it to the Model Evaluation Question from the 2021 Model (right) 👇 Authorities can keep using the old Model until October, but then the new version becomes mandatory, so now’s the time to start sharpening those bid writing skills and taking your social value tracking and reporting up a gear. Our point-by-point comparison of the new and old Models tells you how to start transitioning to the 2025 system. #SocialValue #SocialImpact #PublicProcurement #SocialValueModel #ProcurementAct https://lnkd.in/eRjkiikz

Contracting authorities and public sector suppliers take note! The new Social Value Model (PPN02) - published on February 11 - introduces a whole host of new Model Award Criteria (MACs) that will change how tenders are compiled and bids are evaluated. We’ve picked out those that are completely new (below, left) and then lined up which MACs from the new Model correspond to MACs in the old Model. Public procurement is now in a transitional period for new processes, where it’s up to the contracting authority to decide whether to use the 2021 or 2025 Model, so it’s vital to get up to speed with how they compare as quickly as possible. Fortunately, we’ve spent the last couple of weeks reviewing the documents for you. Take a look at our point-by-point comparison on the link. #SocialValue #SocialImpact #PublicProcurement #SocialValueModel #ProcurementAct #FairWork #CrimeReduction #DomesticAbuse https://lnkd.in/eRjkiikz
