Smart Works are a charity who support unemployed women across the UK who need help getting into work. Well done to all who took part!   • Partner Andrew Ryan takes a closer look at a key takeaway from the seminal decision in Finch and the implications of relying on environmental consent that is granted whilst the law is still in flux. The law around EIA and other environmental assessments is constantly developing, and if an important issue is moving through the courts, such as that considered in Finch, developers must closely monitor those cases and consider the implications of a change in the law on their proposals.     🤝 We have advised the shareholders of test automation software provider, Trinitatum, on a majority investment from Literacy Capital. 📈The new partnership will further expand and help Trinitatum respond to the inbound approaches received from new international customers. Our team was led by partner Ian Roberts, with support from senior associate Kirsty Wilson and managing associate Nicola Bilner in the corporate team.   • Labour’s budget confirmed sweeping reforms: Capital Gains Tax anti-forestalling rules now apply to disposals straddling 30 October 2024, BEPS Pillar Two mandates a 15% global minimum tax for multinational companies, and the “non-dom regime” will be abolished on the 6th of April 2025.     HMRC is also recruiting 6,800 more staff to monitor compliance including a focus on offshore trusts and debt management, we will no doubt see even more tax disputes throughout 2025.     Find out everything you need to know about tax disputes in our Tax Disputes Outlook report: https://lnkd.in/e_y_qTeP
