Beer brewed with surplus bread - from leftover loaves to liquid gold. Raise a Toast to Planet Earth 🍞🍻🌎
About us
We brew with surplus fresh bread from bakeries. That means less land to grow barley for brewing, and less loaves to waste. Since 2016, we’ve saved so many slices of bread that stacked up together, they’d be over 4 times the height of Mount Everest! When it comes to food waste, we’re on a mission to move mountains. A third of all food produced is wasted, wasting the natural resources that go into its production too. We're here to change that. As a BCorp, we advocate for better business. We stand for nature, and all our profits go to environmental charities. Find us in Fortnum & Mason, Waitrose, Co-op and Ocado. Join us for a beer at goodcompany.london on Thursdays until 10pm.

We're lending our voice to Garden Organic's epic campaign - banning the use of urban pesticides, led by The Pesticide Collaboration. Pesticides are sprayed on pavements, parks and playgrounds, across the UK. And these chemicals are seriously bad news for our health, our pets and native wildlife. Join us and sign the petition for a national ban on the use of urban pesticides: https://lnkd.in/ezSqskVt For the sake of our wildlife, our health and wellbeing let's #GoPesticideFree. Cheers! #StopPesticides #OrganicGardening #NaturesTakingOver

Raise a pint, to lower your carbon footprint! With packaging the biggest proportion of our carbon footprint, we’ve done our homework to understand the emissions. Did you know choosing draught beer at the pub is the lowest carbon option? And if you’re drinking at home, our cans have a significantly lower footprint (than bottles) because of a number of factors: ♻️ Recycled aluminium content (of which there is a good quantity due to high recycling rates) requires less energy. 🚛 Aluminium is lighter so uses less fuel to transport (this is more significant the further the beer travels!) 🤏 Compact size of cans mean we need less packaging & storage space.

We have a new team member at Toast and nature really has taken them over! But we can hardly keep calling our new recruit ‘Hedge’, so we asked some of the Toast team for their suggestions... Think you can do better? WE WON THE 2024 Social Impact Award! 🍻 Last night Alexander Wheeler (Breadwinner extraordinaire) attended the Footprint Drinks Sustainability Awards, where Toast WON The 2024 Social Impact Award 🥇 (and took Highly Commended for The C&C Group On-Trade Supplier of the Year too!) The Social Impact Award celebrates businesses making a positive impact on communities. This year with the help of our B Lab UK friends at ActionFunder, we funded 4 incredible community initiatives, all focused on boosting local food resilience and protecting nature. Read their stories here: https://lnkd.in/eQJ2n66f Here's to everyone who was part of the awards last night - working to brew a more sustainable future together. Cheers! #Awards #BetterBusiness #BCorpUK #SustainableDrinks

🌿🍞 Looks like we might have a wild new recruit! Nature is officially taking over at Toast. Check out (what might be) the weirdest interview you've ever seen with Charlie Markland. The big question is: should we let "The Hedge" join the brew crew? 🌳👇

Look no further for a podcast recommendation this week👇 Cheers!

Toast Brewing are on a mission to tackle the food waste crisis and protect the planet by turning leftover bread into beer! Thanks so much for joining us Robert Wilson and providing some inspirational food for thought. Yesterday was the United Nations International Day of Awareness of Food Loss & Waste. Here's to The Guardian for doing their bit, and spreading the word on the need for mandatory food waste reporting. At Toast Brewing, fighting food waste is at the heart of what we do, so we’re proud to stand with Too Good To Go and other like-minded businesses in urging the UK government to introduce mandatory food waste reporting for big business. We believe big businesses need to measure and publish their food waste. This would be a BIG DEAL and a vital step to a greener, faster-growing and more resilient economy.
