Supporting Women @ TODD I New Forum Launch This week, TODD Architects launched a dedicated support forum for women across the practice. The newly formed forum aims to foster a positive, inclusive environment where women in the practice can share their experiences, collaborate and feel empowered. We believe in creating spaces where every voice is heard, valued and supported. Including colleagues at all stages of their careers, the forum will be a resource for mentorship, networking and professional growth. A big thank you to all who contributed to the forum’s launch including guest speakers Clare Mulholland and Emer Hinphey who brought valuable tools, knowledge and real-world insights. Let’s build a stronger, more inclusive community together! About us
Designing Places for People. TODD Architects Ltd, established in 1976, have grown to be included within the Architects Journal’s list of top 100 UK practices, with offices in Belfast, London, Dublin and an associated studio in Riyadh. The company has developed expertise in a wide spectrum of project categories, ranging from those of basic architectural requirement to complex buildings of high technological content and major developments of visual, environmental and commercial significance. Commissions extend across the public and private sector, with specialisations and expertise developed in healthcare, education, offices, retail, arts, leisure and cultural facilities. In addition to its core discipline of architecture, the company offers project management, town planning, masterplanning, urban design, workplace and interior design services. TODD’s commitment to design quality is most directly evidenced in the number of RIBA and other industry awards completed buildings have received and, from the perspective of service quality, in the number of commissions that are secured through repeat clients.

IWD2025 I Celebrating Exceptional Women In celebration of International Women’s Day we asked some of our colleagues to share their favourite projects led by female architects - each day this week we are sharing some of the fantastic projects highlighted in the hope of doing our small part to accelerate awareness of exceptional women in architecture. Today we have Chloe Cassidy from our Manchester studio talking about Lina Bo Bardi: “I’m a particular fan of Lina Bo Bardi (for multiple reasons!) but mostly for the added social significance to her schemes, notably seen in SESC Pompeia - a great scheme to bring an old metal barrel factory back to life, and documented with some really beautiful drawings and artwork.” #AccelerateAction #IWD2025 #TeamTODD #Celebratingwomen #architecture

Today we have Laoise McGrath Part 3 Architectural Assistant at our Dublin Studio talking about Ann Lacaton: “I am inspired by her commitment to finding new ways to reuse and re-purpose what already exists, her design's economic use of materials and resources and her commitment to avoiding demolition at all costs. "It is a type of practice that is not frequently found in our industry despite the urgency of the climate crisis, and yet she manages it in a way that still delivers beautiful and inspiring buildings” #AccelerateAction #IWD2025 #TeamTODD #CelebratingWomen #Architecture

Today we have Eva Simitsi: Architect at our Manchester Studio talking about Eileen Gray: “Eileen was a pioneering designer of furniture and Modernist architecture, but she didn’t receive the recognition she deserved until she was 94 years old. “She began her career as a furniture designer before turning her talents to architecture, where she created the now-iconic seaside villa, E-1027. This villa added warmth and comfort to the typically world of Modernist design. “So why was her brilliance overlooked for so long? Much of it stemmed from her naturally shy and introverted nature, as well as her discomfort with self-promotion. Gray herself noted, “I was not a pusher, and maybe that’s the reason I did not get the place I should have had. “Additionally, the Parisian decorative arts scene was predominantly male, leaving many women like her excluded from important discussions. “It took decades for her contributions to be fully acknowledged. However, before her passing in 1976 at the age of 98, Eileen Gray finally witnessed her genius being celebrated—a long-overdue tribute to a woman who reshaped design in her own quiet and powerful way.” #AccelerateAction #IWD2025 #TeamTODD #Celebratingwomen #architecture

Our Education Team are proud to have played their part in the development of Elmgrove Primary School. We look forward to showcasing our design in the coming weeks. #education #primary #conservation #development
🎉 Delighted to see Elmgrove featured in NI Builder! 🎉 We’re proud of our work on the Elmgrove Primary School & Nursery Unit, preserving a Grade A listed building and creating modern facilities for 620 pupils and 52 nursery children. The project supported 573 local employment weeks and earned a Bronze National Considerate Constructors Award in 2024. Proud to contribute to East Belfast’s future! #WoodvaleConstruction #ElmgrovePrimary #Belfast #Education #ConstructionExcellence https://lnkd.in/ehXECXzP

IWD2025 I Celebrating Exceptional Women In celebration of International Women's Day we asked some of our colleagues to share their favourite projects led by female architects - each day this week we are sharing some of the fantastic projects highlighted in the hope of doing our small part to accelerate awareness of exceptional women in architecture. Today we have Laura Masterson, from our Belfast Studio talking about Eva Prats. “Eva is the co-founder of Flores & Prats Arquitectes, a Barcelona based practice. "The adaptive-reuse project, Sala Beckett is a personal favourite of mine, there was a high level of detail and craftsmanship used to reimagine and repurpose the space that once held a strong place in the community.” #AccelerateAction #IWD2025 #TeamTODD #Celebratingwomen #architecture
