As part of Black History Month, @TogetherInTheUK shares Farisai Dwemza's story—a mental health professional, migrant advocate, craft therapist, and author. Farisai’s story is one of resilience, fuelled by her lived experiences from Zimbabwe to the UK. Her journey into her profession was inspired by her personal battles and desire to support the community. In this feature by Sinéad Mangan-Mc Hale, Farisai shares her views on Black History Month, honoring leaders like Loraine Masiya Mponela who fight tirelessly for migrant rights, and discusses why it’s crucial for migrants to tell their own stories. Don’t miss her powerful reflections and insights on making the UK a more inclusive place for everyone. We were also delighted to find out that Farisai's book group is discussing entries in Hear Our Stories. https://lnkd.in/eVGvNc8i For refugees and migrants, the written word becomes a sanctuary. Read in this interview by Sinéad Mangan-Mc Hale with Danielle Maisano read how Exiledwriters champions our right to be heard, fostering freedom of expression in the face of displacement and adversity. Find tips on how Exiledwriters can support your writing, getting published and more about their events. Quote from Danielle: 'I believe that the power of literature is that it gives us access to experiences that would typically be beyond our reach. Through the literary skills of these writers, readers can share experiences, cultures, and insights that they might never otherwise have the opportunity. The stories can be harrowing and at times terrifying to even imagine, but it is essential that these experiences are shared'. #RefugeesWelcome #Stories #TGIUK #ExiledWriters

We have entered a Movement for Good funding opportunity and I would really appreciate support for this endeavour. We work with migrants using our storytelling platform to capture and share stories from which we learn so much. Our mission is to help people with integration, inclusion and cultural shifts as well as learning from other cultural influences. We'd really appreciate support from all our followers and whoever feel they can support this effort. Thank ever so much https://lnkd.in/enuwxYhq #storytelling #migration #stories #inclusion #equality #culture #differences #TogetherintheUK #commonalities
