Tokenovate Founder and CEO Richard Baker recently participated in a panel hosted by the Digital Pound Foundation, held at Clifford Chance, and moderated by Jannah Patchay, discussing the theme: "Driving sustainability through digital financial transformation". Alongside Devina Paul of Zumo, Victoria Thompson of Orora, and Kikun Alo of Clifford Chance, the the conversation covered several aspects of the E, S and the G, and how emerging technologies can accelerate sustainable development. While significant challenges remain, particularly in the harmonisation of standards and definitions, solid progress is being made in several areas, including automation, risk assessment, reporting, and regulatory compliance. At Tokenovate, we are committed to advancing the transformation of VCCs into transparent, efficient, and reliable market infrastructure by: ✅ Actively participating in global advocacy and policy-making, ✅ Supporting the creation of a meta-register, and ✅ Designing a token standard for seamless tracking and trading of tokenised VCCs. It's been a busy week for Team Tokenovate. Part of our ethos is to engage with the ecosystem, and collaborate across sectors to drive positive change. Tokenovate Founder and CEO Richard Baker presented at an Impact event organised by Helen Disney of Unblocked and Laura Clatworthy of Rosenblatt, our Chief Legal & Product Officer Ciarán McGonagle participated at a selection of in-depth roundtables at the RegTech Forum, our Chief Commercial Officer Stephen Ashworth joined the Calastone Connect Forum, and our Chief Communications & Marketing Officer Gunnar Larsén attended the Tokenisation event organised by Future of Finance (FOF). There is a clear momentum building in capital markets around adapting and adopting future financial market infrastructure. Tokenisation of assets - digital or real-world - is only one aspect of that progress. We are bullish about what can be achieved when you fuse economics and standards with smart technology. Tokenovate prides itself on supporting students in their academic progression. For the second year running, we supervised two very bright UCL and UCL Computer Science Fintech master candidates in their final thesis research. This summer, we were fortunate to support Sami El Houcheimi and Nikita Lyakhovoy, who worked with Tokenovate's Stephen Ashworth, investigating how the automated market maker (AMM) concept being used in crypto and decentralised finance is generating liquidity, considering how it functions, assessing if it could run on the UTXO-based BSV Blockchain, and being used with tokenised real world assets. Both Nikita and Sami produced excellent work, culminating in output that - among other things - suggests that BSV, with its capabilities and the flexibility (provided by sCrypt), can effectively support a decentralised platform that bridges the gap between traditional financial systems and DeFi, fostering broader adoption of decentralised solutions, as well as the proposed AMM design is indeed capable of adapting to market dynamics, even under extreme conditions. In 2024, Tokenovate have so far organised three invite-only roundtable discussions, covering industry topics and issues that we think benefit from open and safe conversational spaces. This week, the turn came to how to navigate legal challenges of tokenised assets.
