  • Excellent to be able to support young people learning trade skills at Craven College! 🦺 A huge thanks to Louise H., Andy Shuttleworth & Vicki Cartmail for helping equip students with course-required products, hi vis jackets, and organising supplier training days. Talking about the relationship, Louise said “It’s great to give the students hands-on experience with the products so that they have the knowledge when they go out onto placement or even straight into the world of work on their own. We have a fantastic relationship with all of the staff and I love seeing the engagement of the students with staff, especially the suppliers when they visit. It’s great to see such development of the future of our construction industry and the growth of the department within the college.” 🤝

  • Last week, we held our Regional Roadshows—10 events across the country, bringing together our Store Managers, Distribution teams and Support Function colleagues. It was fantastic to connect in person, share stories, celebrate successes and talk about how we are going to deliver a really successful Spring and Summer season 💪. Thank you to our supplier partners who supported the Roadshows - Hamilton Decorating Tools Milwaukee Tool ForgeFix and Okarno. #OneTeam #RegionalRoadshows #Toolstation

  • As Neurodiversity Week comes to a close, it doesn't mean the conversation has to stop there. We’ll be keeping it going—ensuring that every colleague feels valued and supported, not just this week, but every day 🤝. But it’s not just about the workplace; understanding neurodiversity is part of everyday life. Lauren’s story highlights how learning more can help us better support neurodivergent friends, family, colleagues, and customers. #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #NeurodiversityWeek #NCW #ThisIsND

  • This week, we’re proud to support Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2025! The theme, ‘Celebrating Different Minds,’ highlights the many ways people think, learn, and process information. At Toolstation, we know that neurodivergent colleagues bring incredible strengths, perspectives, and talents to our teams. That’s why we’re sharing some of their inspiring stories—starting with Dave’s. #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #NeurodiversityWeek #NCW #ThisIsND

  • With International Women’s Day tomorrow, we’ve been asking some of our leaders—both men and women—how they’re planning to #AccelerateAction this year and push for gender equality. Here’s what our Finance, Property & Distribution Director, Lakhvir S., had to say. “The industry has made great progress over the last decade but there is still a lot more to be done and we all need to play our part to ‘be the change we want to see’. Personally, I am so pleased to have played a part in the working group that delivered family friendly policies for our colleagues, and we need to continue to drive the change we want to see!” Lakhvir is also featured in the 2025 WiHTL & Diversity in Retail index, recognised for her impact, leadership, and contributions to our industry. She joins a brilliant cohort of women shaping the future! #IWD2025 #InspiringLeaders #EquityDiversityInclusion

Managing Director at Travis Perkins Group

I was thrilled to be asked to share my career story at the first face to face Elevate Women’s Network established for members of the Construction Inclusion Coalition. What an amazing buzz in the room with everyone feeling safe enough to tell their stories on the subject of microaggressions led by Sophie Turner. It served as a reminder to me of why we established the Construction Inclusion Coalition - to improve equity and inclusion across our industry, because listening to the stories shared, things are not changing fast enough. It’s imperative that we change not only to attract a diverse workforce but to ensure we retain them in our businesses by ensuring we have truly inclusive environments and cultures. The Elevate network is just one part of the work being done by members of the Construction Inclusion Coalition to support our member businesses to build inclusive workplaces and a more inclusive construction industry. Please reach out to me or Anthea Marris if you are interested in joining the CIC and being part of this coalition that is about action and bringing about tangible change #ElevateWomensNetwork #Inclusion #Womeninleadership #builtonbetter

Last week we were thrilled to host our first in-person Elevate Women’s Network meeting at Bristan Group Ltd’s head office. Established in June 2024, Elevate was created to support women in building confidence and raising their profiles in our traditionally male-dominated industry. A huge thank you to Maxine C. and Jen Cassidy —without your passion and determination, this incredible network wouldn’t exist! We were inspired by the career stories of Angela Rushforth, our CIC Chair and Managing Director of Toolstation, and Karen Day, Managing Director of Keytec Installation Services (part of Genuit Group). Their journeys had us gasping, laughing, and—above all—deeply motivated. Their determination, curiosity, bravery, and resilience truly stood out. Key takeaways: ✅ Ask lots of questions ✅ Be determined ✅ Set bold, audacious goals ✅ Lift others as you rise ✅ Most importantly—be your authentic self The session also featured an impactful workshop on Handling Unacceptable Behaviours, led by the brilliant Sophie Turner. It was disheartening to hear how common microaggressions and sexist behaviour still are in the workplace, but we hope attendees left feeling empowered and better equipped to challenge them. Thank you to everyone in our Elevate network for sharing your stories and supporting one another. If you work in a member business and want to join us for our next virtual session, let us know! #ElevateWomensNetwork #Inclusion #WomenInLeadership #CareerGrowth #Builtonbetter
