Job Opportunity: Commercial Manager at Topek Are you an experienced professional in the construction industry looking for your next challenge? Role Overview: As Commercial Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end commercial functions of the business, ensuring optimal financial performance through effective cost control, revenue maximization, and risk management. Key Responsibilities Financial Management:  Work with the Finance Team and Senior Stakeholders to set and manage budgets, forecasts, and sales targets. Monitor financial performance, ensuring variances are addressed promptly. Provide accurate financial reporting to Directors. Contract Management & Risk Mitigation:  Review contracts, assess risks, and advise on impacts and opportunities. Negotiate and monitor supplier and customer contracts. Ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements. Procurement & Supplier Relations: Manage procurement for materials, subcontractors, and labour-only contracts. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. Project Oversight:  Lead on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Ensure accurate and timely valuations, invoicing, and resolution of commercial issues. Monitor project performance and report on financial, safety, quality, and programme metrics. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the QS, design, and finance teams to ensure cohesive project delivery. Lead efforts to identify and mitigate financial risks. What We're Looking For Qualifications: A degree or qualification in surveying or a related field is preferred. Proven industry experience in a similar role. Skills & Requirements: Strong financial acumen and experience in project budgeting and forecasting. Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills. Familiarity with commercial and financial compliance requirements. Full UK driving license (travel to sites across the UK required). Why Join Us? Juan has been issued a green card for his proactive approach to site safety; he took the time to scan our site QR code and put forward some valuable safety suggestions. 👏 At Topek, we believe in listening to our team members and empowering them to make a difference. So after five days and 96 miles later, the team have smashed their West Highland Way challenge in aid of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity!! This has pushed the whole team to their limits and has allowed them to see how far they can push themselves. This challenge could not have been made possible without the support and generosity from all our friends, families, colleagues and suppliers! So far we have raised a massive £7635 with donations still coming in! Additionaly, with the support of the Brickability Group PLC foundation we will be doubling this amount for this great charity. We recently had the pleasure of assisting the Kirkhaven Project, operated by CrossReach. This resettlement service in Glasgow provides accommodation, support, and social care for single men and women aged 18-65 who are homeless and face complex challenges such as mental health issues and substance dependency. To enhance the outdoor space for the service users, we revitalised the back garden by installing a new decking area with ramped access and planting new and existing flowers. In just two Fridays, with the help of our dedicated staff and generous suppliers, we transformed the garden into a welcoming space for the residents to enjoy. It was inspiring to see the impact we could make in such a short time through teamwork. At Topek, social value is central to our mission, with every employee dedicated to helping others whenever possible. Our team takes pride in fostering a supportive environment where assistance and compassion are always at the forefront.
