Earlier this month Total Telecom's Georgia Sweeting interviewed Samantha Kight, Head of Industry Security, they discussed insights from the GSMA Mobile Threat Landscape Report 2025 and how telecom operators are responding: ✔️ Cybersecurity is a team sport – Intelligence-sharing through GSMA’s Telecommunications ISAC is helping telcos stay ahead of threats. ✔️ #AI is both a weapon and a defence – Machine learning is strengthening security, but attackers are using the same tools to make phishing, fraud, and intrusion attempts more sophisticated. ✔️ Security is now a business opportunity – Telcos are expanding into enterprise security services, helping businesses improve their resilience. ✔️ Regulation is shaping #security strategy – Compliance pressures mean operators must align their security frameworks to the strictest global standards. ✔️ The human factor is still a weak link – Even with AI and automation, social engineering and insider threats remain major risks.
