TPT’s Philip Smith joined LCP’s live podcast at the PLSA Annual Conference, to discuss the difficult decisions DC members often face at retirement, and how our market-leading retirement pathway, launching next Spring, could help. He told Steve Webb and Laasya S. “We’re extending the savings journey in a single to-and-through retirement journey, so that members can stay in the same type of investment, called a target date fund (TDF), for the whole of their life. We’ve taken the TDF and built something that’s going to work into their 90s, with the same benefits of sophisticated investment and the thinking behind it.” Listen to the podcast, and others recorded live at the conference, here: https://lnkd.in/efwDS7ka

A valuable addition to the TPT Investment Management portfolio, available to defined benefit pension schemes through DB Complete, DB Connect or standalone fiduciary management.
Introducing the fourth, and largest, of the new funds we’re launching this year – the Liquid Alternatives Fund. The £800m fund is a collective investment vehicle that will allow defined benefit pension schemes joining TPT to immediately achieve scale benefits across asset classes by aggregating with assets in TPT Retirement Solutions' DB Master Trust. It differs from the three most recently-launched funds because it allocates to a range of investment strategies with a low correlation to listed markets, within a liquid structure. Good to hear Peter Smith and Philip Smith talk today about the investment challenges in the DC space. With "I don't know" still a common response from members when asked about their retirement plans, a straightforward solution is key. It's heartening to see a member-focused solution, to simplify and streamline retirement pathways. TPT Investment Management TPT Retirement Solutions

We look forward to working more with Nicholas Clapp, and getting to know Valia Tzoka and Christopher Dickins, CFA, as we grow and develop our specialised investment solution.
We announced last week that our specialised investment management solution is now available to pension schemes as a standalone service. Joining us as we grow this service are new Managing Director, Nicholas Clapp, Client Director, Christopher Dickins, CFA, and Operations and Reporting Manager, Valia Tzoka. Nick is TPT’s Commercial Director and will harness his experience of leading fiduciary management teams to also head up TPTIM. Chris will take care of trustees that work with TPTIM directly, or through TPT Retirement Solutions’ DB Connect solution. Valia will lead TPTIM’s client reporting, incorporating new data sets to help support client engagement and decision making. We’re delighted to have them on the team – find out more about them here: https://lnkd.in/ekjVvknZ

A really interesting podcast from Philip Smith and the IFA Talk team, on the poor take-up of financial advice by people approaching retirement. Listen as they discuss the potential reasons for this – including the shift from a defined benefit to a defined contribution generation and the perceived value of financial advice – and how our industry can help.
Helping us to dig down into the topic of retirement is Sue and Meg’s guest on the IFA Talk podcast today, Philip Smith, Director of Defined Contributions, at TPT Retirement Solutions – one of the UK’s leading providers of workplace pensions. #IFATalk #Retirement Listen to the podcast below, we hope you enjoy!
