About us

Transforma Insights is a research firm focused on the world of Digital Transformation. Led by seasoned technology industry analysts Transforma Insights provides advice, recommendations and decision support tools for organisations seeking to understand how new technologies will change the markets in which they operate. To address the implications of the technology-driven change, often referred to as Digital Transformation (DX), we examine the intersection of three inter-related areas: New Technologies (which comprises a dozen technology families including concepts such as IoT, AI and distributed ledger), Transformational Use Cases, and Enterprise Change Management. In order to support our clients’ as they navigate this intersection of these three areas, we provide a set of research tools. The Best Practice & Vendor Selection Database offers unrivalled information on current and historic DX deployments, comprising thousands of Case Studies providing would-be adopters with critical understanding of project prioritisation, best practice, key success factors, and the leading vendors with which they should be working. The Database links seamlessly to our new Vendor Connect platform, a mechanism for connecting technology vendors and would-be technology adopters. Based on our detailed understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of supporting vendors, we provide competitive benchmarks in the form of our Vendor Peer Benchmarking. These tools help vendors understand how they are positioned relative to their peers in these emerging markets. Our TAM Forecasts are quantitative guides to the market opportunity, covering each of twelve technology families, looking at hundreds of use cases across 20 vertical sectors and covering 200 countries. Finally, our Technology Insight Reports provide a qualitative guide to the dynamics and impact of the twelve technology families upon which we focus. These are updated annually.

Virtual Briefing – Navigating the increasing complexity of IoT regulations around the world (30th October) IoT experts from Transforma Insights and floLIVE share the key regulations that any company deploying IoT needs to be aware of, ranging from security and privacy to licensing and permanent roaming. Transforma Insights has identified regulation as the single most significant of its dozen ‘IoT Transition Topics’ (i.e. trends that will have the most impact in the IoT space) for 2024. Particularly we note requirements related to security, procurement and national resilience have become increasingly strict, reflecting the growing importance of IoT particularly for connecting critical national infrastructure. At the same time, long-standing challenges related to licensing and permanent roaming continue to cause challenges for cellular-based IoT deployments. The growing complexity of overlapping regulations means that enterprise adopters, and any company supporting them, will need to carefully navigate the regulatory landscape. On the 30th October 2024, Transforma Insights and floLIVE will deliver a webinar exploring the ways in which regulations affecting IoT are evolving and continue to be a challenge. Matt Hatton, Founding Partner of Transforma Insights, and Nir Shalom, CEO of floLIVE, will share their views on the major regulatory themes and the best approaches to tackling them. Transforma Insights' Matt Hatton's new article on IoT For All (https://lnkd.in/eCshtpvC) explores why IoT Connectivity Providers Need to Embrace VoLTE/VoNR/IMS. 📈 20% of cellular IoT connections and 22% of IoT connectivity revenue by 2033 will come from applications that need to support voice. 🚗 Automotive accounts for over 60% of the opportunity 📶 The vast majority of the leading use cases demand native IP voice support, i.e. VoLTE (and VoNR in 5G) 👍 IoT connectivity providers need a scaleable solution for delivering voice services. Transforma Insights identifies 11 characteristics of an optimised voice service. 📺 And be sure to tune in for our webinar with ng-voice on 5th November, 'Why an IoT connectivity portfolio needs a scalable VoLTE/VoNR capability'. Join Matt Hatton, Founding Partner at Transforma Insights and Nir Shalom, CEO of floLIVE on Wednesday 30th October for a free webinar 'Navigating the increasing complexity of IoT regulations around the world. Topics for discussion on the webinar will include: - What is the current status of permanent roaming (and associated licensing topics) around the world? Have we resolved this issue? - How do the plethora of new IoT security regulations affect how IoT deployments need to be provisioned? - What impact do data privacy and data sovereignty rules have on architecting IoT solutions? - In which verticals and use cases are regulations acting as a driver for IoT? - What are the best mechanisms that enterprises should use to ensuring that their IoT deployments are compliant? - How will the regulatory environment evolve in the coming years? Registrants for the webinar will also be provided with a Position Paper ‘Meeting the increasing regulatory challenge in IoT’ which provides a comprehensive review of IoT-related regulations around the world. It includes a guide to key areas of horizontal regulation, including licensing and permanent roaming, privacy, and security, which are causing challenges. It also provides a description of the wide variety of vertical regulations that are, mostly, driving the market. Register here: https://lnkd.in/e6XwWb_i
