Travelodge Hotels Limited reposted this
I am unbelievably proud of what we have achieved this week with our incredible partners, Travelodge Hotels Limited ❤️ Together with Travelodge we took on The Yorkshire Three Peaks on Tuesday. Even in over 15 hours of rain, wind and cloud, nothing shifted the smiles, spirit and focus on our why. The full rainbow was a reminder. To top off the peaks, we had our annual Golf Day on Thursday, and again the weather wasn’t kind to us but the generosity and support of Travelodge’s suppliers, colleagues, friends and family was. Raising a total of £12,556.77 (with Gift Aid) over the two days, we could not be more proud of the team and everyone involved to make this happen. The perfect example of passion, determination, resilience and collaboration. All for the most worthy cause. The funds raised will change lives and will help us in our fight against the world’s biggest killer, by helping to fund lifesaving research into heart and circulatory disease. Travelodge and British Heart Foundation is a proper partnership and one we are beyond grateful for and proud of. Thank you Travelodge for your consistent and continued support and passion. Huge shout out to the best team, your company this week has been golden. This #WorldHeartDay, join us in supporting our charity partner British Heart Foundation in raising funds for lifesaving research. Each week, around 12 young people under 35 are lost to sudden cardiac death in the UK. We can all support by donating to The BHF's research to help stop this tragic reality. www.bhf.org.uk/tilidied

Heart attack survivor – our regional Estates Manager Mark Wenlock has experienced a life-changing year. Ahead of World Heart Day, he looks back at his journey, the support from our charity partner British Heart Foundation, and how he hopes sharing his story can raise awareness. “You have four arteries that go into the top of your heart and three of mine were 95% blocked. The doctor told me afterwards that if I hadn’t called the ambulance that night, I had about three months left before my life was in serious danger.” Thankfully, seven months on from his diagnosis and successful surgery, Mark has returned to the job he was itching to get back to. Read Mark’s full story below, from diagnosis, to recovery and the support he has received from Travelodge and the British Heart Foundation. The British Heart Foundation has been Travelodge’s charity partner since 2017 and we’ve since raised almost £1 million to support the UK’s leading heart charity, as well as raising awareness for their RevivR™ campaign with a mirror sticker and QR code linking to CPR training in every one of our UK hotel rooms. With 7.6 million people living with heart and circulatory diseases in the UK today, Mark wants to use his story to raise awareness. https://lnkd.in/eFw6p54H

Today, Travelodge Group is announcing first-half performance in line with expectations, reflecting continued investment in growth and quality, including freehold acquisitions, as well as inflationary cost pressures and softer market demand. Revenue growth is supported by resilient demand from both leisure and business guests, driven by staycations, people working in offices again, and more face-to-face meetings. Travelodge’s accelerated refit programme and new advertising campaign are already showing positive results, with 50% of our estate to be upgraded by the end of 2024. While UK revenues in the third quarter are modestly below 2023 levels, July trends are encouraging with UK revenues ahead of 2023. Forward bookings are also positive, with booked revenue to the end of the year ahead of 2023 levels at this point Our strong financial position, affordable proposition, and diversified hotel network position us well for long-term growth.
