Customers have begun signing up to the Solihull Town Centre Low Carbon Energy Network! 🔗🏫 Phase one customer agreements have been signed to supply heat to Solihull College & University Centre, Tudor Grange Academy, The Core Library and Tudor Grange Leisure Centre. The £6.5 million of Heat Networks Investment Project (HNIP) funding awarded helped kickstart this carbon saving project. ☀️ During summer, heat from the air is used to warm the Swaffham Prior heat network using a 500kW air source heat pump. This network which was awarded over £3m through HNIP also uses a ground source heat pump and four electric boilers. Heat is delivered to each home via an underground network of highly insulated pipes.
