Affordable homes. Exceptional care.
About us
We're a national and forward-thinking social landlord and employer, with over 3,600 homes across the length and breadth of Scotland - we have a presence in 23 out of the 32 local authority areas in Scotland with around a third of our homes located in North Lanarkshire. While we are a national provider, we are very much rooted in the communities we serve. Our primary social rented offer includes general needs housing (36%) for households of all ages and housing for later living (61%). In addition, we provide some mid-market homes and shared ownership, and also provide factoring services to over 380 owners. We are one of Scotland’s largest housing, care and support providers for later living - we have specialised in housing, care and support services for older people for 50 years. We're much more than a landlord and service provider though. We are an organisation who care. We’re here to make a positive difference to the lives of our customers and the communities we serve. Our customers and communities are at the heart of everything we do, and our services are very people focused. As such, we are a large employer with over 700 full and part-time employees working across Scotland.

Across Trust, we marked World Mental Health Day 2024. Thank you to everyone who contributed and took some time out to reflect on their own mental health. We’re happy to share some pictures from the day. Colleagues in developments enjoyed coffee and cakes with customers, whilst office-based colleagues enjoyed lunchtime walks in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. #trust #trusthousing #mentalhealthday #mentalhealthawareness

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and feel valued by others. It’s also flexible, fun, and at Trust we can guarantee you’ll make a difference to the lives of people in your local community. You might be surprised how much difference it makes to your life too! We really value our volunteers’ contribution, and we offer plenty of support (including covering any out of pocket expenses and the cost of a Disclosure Scotland check) to help make sure it’s a positive experience for everyone involved. Whatever time you’ve got and whatever you’ve got to offer, we’d love to hear from you. From organising social events and activities to spending time with tenants, there are plenty of ways you can support us and make a difference. A new customer at the Elder Street development in Govan, has donated this lovely wooden clock to our lounge, which he handmade at his woodwork class in St Gerards high school, Govan. The wood which was used to make this clock was part of the head teachers old office door. The clock is very unusual and very beautiful, and we are delighted to accept it. It also gives customers a talking point at the Tea & Toast morning. #trust #trusthousing #socialhousing

Trust Housing Association recently awarded our social enterprise at SBMC the contract to supply and install their rebranded signage for all of their properties in Scotland – from the central belt to the Hebrides. We are exceptionally happy to work with Trust as they are a people-centric organisation with roots in philanthropy and their values very much chime with ours. Their trust in our work is hugely welcome business and helps us continue to deliver employment and development opportunities to our veterans. This video captures the whole process – from design to installation. #rbli #tommy #supportforveterans #sbmc #veteranemployment #socialenterprise #investinpeoplenotprofit #partnerships

Reflecting on Opportunities with Trust Housing Association In early 2020, while my family was considering a move to the UK, I had the opportunity to engage with the Trust Housing Association, an organization that deeply values innovation and inclusion. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, I applied for a role and was fortunate to receive an offer from Neil Ferguson, Director of Business Development & Digital. Neil, Darren Lewis (Head of Service Design & Improvement), and I had thoughtful conversations about my job and disability, not out of insensitivity but to support Trust Housing's commitment to providing the necessary resources for my success. These discussions highlighted their unwavering dedication to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). Trust Housing’s EDI framework ensures that every employee, tenant, and partner is treated with respect, regardless of background or ability, setting a high standard for how organizations should lead. Learn more about Trusts EDI commitment here: https://lnkd.in/gP39tCSm I became their Head of Digital and Data, focusing on my strengths despite being new to the housing and care home sector. I presented Neil with an idea—one inspired by my disability—that he immediately saw as an opportunity to benefit vulnerable residents. He encouraged me to explore research and funding opportunities, exemplifying his leadership by fostering innovation. Working closely with Neil and Darren, I remotely managed the data and IT department from Florida, waking up at 2 a.m. to align with the UK team. This commitment was crucial during Trust Housing’s digital transformation. Their 4,000 homes across Scotland, combined with their dedication to EDI, positioned them as a unique organization committed to serving Scotland’s diverse communities. Trust Housing’s 2020-2025 strategy reflects its mission to create vibrant, sustainable communities by adapting to tenants' evolving needs. Their long-term goals demonstrate a commitment to making a lasting, positive impact on people’s lives. Despite deciding to stay in the United States, I’m grateful for the experience and the support from Neil, Darren, and the Trust Housing team. Balancing life while working from 3 a.m. to noon was challenging, but it underscored the importance of a supportive work environment. Trust Housing valued me for my contributions, not my limitations. Thank you to Neil, Darren, and the Trust Housing Association team for believing in me and fostering an inclusive environment where I could thrive. Inclusion can benefit any company or organization. It just requires understanding how to best implement it into your current model. If you're interested in learning how inclusion can be a key driver of success in your business, let’s schedule a call to discuss how you can bring these principles to your organization.
