One of the challenges we faced while starting our client "Francis Bacon", the artist's Instagram was that we were up against the many pre-existing fan accounts that had been sharing his work for years. With the Estate preferring not to shut them down, instead we used the exclusive content and knowledge of the Estate to leverage the official account's position, build a following and position within the art community. We used hyper-reality elements such as airflow, touch, and smell perfectly timed with gothic-themed VR sets to help augment living through your very own nightmare. Inspired by eighties horror movies from Kronenberg to Hellraiser, Pendulum played with different layers of reality like dreams or psychedelic trips.
