Recently, our Smithfield service hosted a fun and creative Spaghetti Building Challenge at Stanfield House Rehab, bringing our community together for a hands-on team-building activity! 💙 It was nice to see collaboration, laughter, and encouragement as everyone supported one another, proving that even the simplest challenges can strengthen connections and boost confidence. Events like these remind us that recovery is not just about individual growth but also about building a supportive and uplifting community. #Community #TeamBuilding #Recovery #Support [Image Description: A group of people gathered around a table, enthusiastically participating in the Spaghetti Building Challenge. About us
We support people to make the life choices they want. With health and wellbeing expertise that spans drug and alcohol use, mental health, learning disability, and sexual health, we’re inspired by the positive change we see people achieve every day. For sixty years, people have come to Turning Point to support them to improve their lives. Often they’ve come at a point when their life felt out of control or they didn’t know where else to turn. For some that was a sense they were becoming too reliant on alcohol, for others it was needing to develop the skills and personal resources to navigate challenges with their mental health. Or people with a learning disability, who want support to live an independent and fulfilling life on their own terms. We believe every person is equally important, and has the potential to grow, learn, and make their own choices. As a leading social enterprise, providing community based health and social care services in over 280 locations across England, we aim to empower people to discover new possibilities in their lives and improve their health and wellbeing.

Sexual wellbeing matters 🧡 Access to sexual health support and education is inconsistent across the UK, leading to rising STI rates among young people. The Local Government Association warns that sexual health services are at breaking point due to funding cuts and increased demand. Turning Point’s SASH London research in a London borough highlights the urgent need for better sexual health education and support, especially for at-risk groups like LGBTQ+ individuals, asylum seekers, and young people with SEND. 100% of youth workers and 89% of sexual health professionals agree: more support and awareness are crucial. Turning Point is tackling stigma and ensuring accessible services for young people across London. From workshops on healthy relationships to easy access to STI kits, their services in Southwark, Hounslow, and Hammersmith & Fulham are here to help. 💪 Let’s break the stigma and ensure everyone has access to the sexual health services they need. It’s #RandomActsofKindnessDay and the Grantham team have been busy spreading joy across their local area! 🌟 They’ve made ‘Good to Go’ bags and delivered them locally, placed chocolate bars with affirmations on cars parked nearby, and dropped chocolates round to a neighbouring business. ❤ And to top the day off, a kind resident of George Street returned the act of kindness and gave the office a lovely box of chocolates too! #Lincolnshire #Recovery #Support #Community #Kindness

Derek is a manager at Turning Point, who embarked on a Level 7 Senior Leadership Apprenticeship to challenge himself and grow as a leader. 🌟 “I realised I needed to take charge of my own development and learn more about leadership theory and practice,” Derek shares. Balancing a demanding role with the rigorous demands of the apprenticeship wasn’t easy. Derek credits his success to careful planning and the unwavering support of his mentor and line manager. “It’s a juggling act,” he says, “but having someone invested in my success made all the difference.” For Derek, the apprenticeship wasn’t just about gaining knowledge - it was about transformation. “I’ve learned to trust myself and others more. Those around me have noticed changes in my approach, and that tells me the apprenticeship is working.” “They allow people to grow and make choices while directly contributing to the workplace. It’s a win-win for individuals, teams, and the people we support.” 💙 #Leadership #Apprenticeship #CareerGrowth #NationalApprenticeshipWeek
