TWM Solicitors is a full service law firm with offices across Surrey and London, providing a high quality service to both private individuals and commercial organisations. The firm is independently recommended in 7 areas of legal practice. For private clients, TWM is renowned for family law, Wills, tax planning, trusts, wealth management and residential conveyancing expertise. For commercial organisations, it has dedicated teams advising on commercial property, business law, employment and dispute resolution. Though its roots go back over 200 years, TWM Solicitors was formed in 2000, by an agreed coming together of three of Surrey’s leading practices. In 2003, Attersolls in Reigate merged its practice with TWM. In recent years, a number of other firms have come into the TWM fold, attracted by being part of a larger practice built on a sound financial footing. The success of these mergers, plus organic growth, has created a leading regional firm serving the Surrey and South East marketplace.

I'm pleased to have been quoted in IFA Magazine discussing the importance of maximising the use of IHT exemptions, together with effective record-keeping, ahead of the Budget. The full article is here: https://lnkd.in/eyPFWynM

Last year, nearly 5,000 families were fined up to £3,000 each by HMRC for delays in paying their Inheritance Tax (IHT) bill. In many cases, these delays were caused by the length of time that banks take in delivering information relating to the estate of the deceased. For grieving families, paying IHT can be a frustratingly complex process. When financial institutions delay proceedings, it can make this process even harder. My comments on this were covered in The Telegraph this weekend – you can read the full article here: https://bit.ly/4dO7rmR I also discuss how this impacts families in my recent blog, which you can read on TWM Solicitors LLP’s website here: https://lnkd.in/eJQcZvFx

Celebrating #WorldMentalHealthDay. This year’s theme focused on 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, a vital aspect of wellbeing for both individuals and organisations. In support of this, the TWM community came together by wearing green, sporting green ribbons, and taking mindful breaks away from our desks to 'move' – whether through walks, a morning yoga session, or an afternoon of games. We also enjoyed a delivery of fresh fruit platters, keeping us energised throughout the day. As part of our TWM Wellbeing initiative, we are committed to prioritising mental health and fostering a workplace where everyone feels supported, not just today, but every day. #WMHD24
Today, we celebrate Will Macauley's big 30! Enjoying a shared birthday with Mia Evans makes it a double celebration for the TWM Lending team. We hope you both enjoyed your special days (and the cakes, of course).
