We’re inviting Adult Education settings, Primary Schools and Local Authorities to take part in a unique opportunity: the Family Numeracy Randomised Control Trial. This trial will explore the impact of delivering maths to parents/carers of children in year 2 or year 3 to build their confidence and support their child’s learning. We are looking for: • Adult education providers to deliver the programme in schools through family learning tutors. All training and delivery costs are fully funded. • Primary schools to host the intervention during school hours and sign-up parents. Schools will receive £500 to spend on maths equipment if at least 8 parents/carers sign up. The trial will begin after the February half term 2025. Apply by 31st October 2024. If you want to learn more, check out the video 🎥 and make sure to register your interest👉 https://lnkd.in/eR5mrjaP.

It's World Teacher's Day tomorrow – a time to recognise how teachers are at the heart of shaping education 👩🏫 Chloe, a dedicated health & social care FE teacher, shares her experience of teaching in FE: “I would say to anyone considering this job role to absolutely go for it. It is challenging but rewarding, it is so amazing to see how with support, we can nurture our students going into the real world and help them to excel. They take on challenges that they never thought they would get the opportunity to do so. FE teaching is one of the most rewarding jobs!” A big thank you to Chloe and all FE teachers who go that extra mile to inspire the next generation. Do you work with children in reception or year 1? The International Early Learning and Child Well-being Study (IELS) 2025 is taking place soon! This nationally representative study of 5-year-old children is taking place in England and eight other countries. Some areas of focus of the study include speech and language development, emerging numeracy, self-regulation and physical development. IELS is crucial to supporting the government and department’s opportunity mission and helps build the evidence base on early childhood development. It will also provide important data on how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted early learning. If your school has been contacted by AlphaPlusregarding your school’s participation, don’t miss out on your chance to represent England in this ground-breaking study. Complete your sign-up by providing the name of your main school contact to them by 11 October. Your participation helps us to make a positive difference in the future of early years education.
