In September 2024, the National Space Operations Centre warned UK-licenced satellite operators of 3041 collision risks, a 42% increase from August 2024. Meanwhile, There was a total increase of 571 registered space objects. Just over 300 of these objects were additional debris pieces detected from the Chinese Long March 6A rocket breakup in August. https://lnkd.in/eXQM9cyk

Lt. Gen. Thomas James, #USSPACECOM deputy commander, welcomed UK Air Marshal Allan Marshall, Royal Air Force (RAF) Air and Space Commander, to the command's Headquarters, where they discussed ways to strengthen the USSPACECOM-UK relationship through advancing space cooperation.

United Kingdom Royal Air Force Air Marshal Paul Godfrey, Assistant Chief of Space Operations for Future Concepts and Partnerships, visited Schriever Space Force Base this week. During his visit he took the opportunity to meet with various offices and units including SpOC’s Space Delta 6, which assures Space Access through operations of the Satellite Control Network and conducts Cyberspace Operations to defend Space Force space systems. AM Godfrey joined the United States Space Force team on June 17 and is serving as Assistant Chief of Space Operations for Future Concepts and Partnerships after three years as the first commander of the U.K. Space Command. This week, the National Space Defense Center team hosted Air Marshal Paul Godfrey, United States Space Force Assistant Chief of Space Operations for Future Concepts and Partnerships. 🇺🇸🇬🇧 Air Marshal Godfrey is the senior exchange officer in the Space Force, and works directly with the CSO to advise him on all matters related to the achievement of space superiority and resilience through international partnerships.

Canada and the UK are collaborating on a satellite, which is scheduled to launch into space in 2027. Redwing, which is the size of a washing machine, will deploy a smaller satellite called LISSA , which is roughly the size of a cereal box and contains an experimental camera from Dstl. Together these satellites will test innovative technologies, which in the long term may vastly improve our ability to identify and monitor objects in space. https://lnkd.in/eYK3znKf

BG John. L. Dawber, USASMDC deputy commanding general for operations, delivers a keynote speech at the United Kingdom Defence Space Conference in London, Sept. 24-25. Earlier this week, UK Space Command joined partners across NATO to discuss how to better protect our commercial partners from various hybrid threats. Participants discussed threats, from cyber-attacks against ground systems, to jamming or spoofing of GPS and other satellite communications signals, as well as subjects like cybersecurity and information-sharing. This will inform NATO's first commercial space strategy, which will include direction for the protection of industry partners.    https://lnkd.in/gmJrhWR9
