ULCCO (Special Projects) Limited

We recently held our first Men's Health and Cancer Awareness Day at ULCCO SP. As part of this day, we had the pleasure of hosting Catie Worrall who is a Cancer and Palliative Care Coordinator at Central Liverpool Primary Care Network, and Tony Collier BEM who is an ambassador, awareness speaker, volunteer and fundraiser for Prostate Cancer UK. We also had the "Living Well Bus" on site, offering health advice and health checks to staff. Catie and Tony were both onsite to deliver talks and provide advice around cancers and men's health throughout the day, with Tony giving a talk on his own personal journey with prostate cancer and Catie giving a talk on cancer awareness; offering advice on signs and symptoms of cancer, as well as demonstrating testicular self-examinations. It was great to see so many of our staff, and site staff get involved during this important awareness day and on behalf of all at ULCCO SP, we would like to thank Tony and Catie for their time in doing this and for answering any questions that the team had.

Following on from a successful gift appeal for St Helens Young Carers in 2022 that was in collaboration with the North West Contractors Training Group (NWCTG), ULCCO SP were again involved in collecting gifts for this incredible charity for Christmas this year. Take a look at the pictures below to see just how much the group managed to collect for St Helens Young Carers. This great effort from the members of the NWCTG ensure that so many young carers do not wake up on Christmas Day without any gifts to open. Well done to all of those involved in contributing towards purchasing these gifts - great result all! We are pleased to announce that at the recent 2023 Brick Awards, the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, part of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at The University of Liverpool, won the Architects’ Choice Award. Given the competition across all categories this year, this was a huge success and a great achievement! Congratulations and well done to all those involved in successfully bringing this project to completion.   The Brick Awards is one of world’s most reputable design and build competitions and celebrates the world’s greatest brick architecture and craftmanship. ULCCO SP recently held the Company's first ever Health and Wellbeing week for our team, and what a great success it was! We had many different activities and presentations scheduled throughout the week, and these were all available for any of our staff and also our sub-contractors working across our sites to attend. Each day had a different theme - these themes included mental health awareness, menopause awareness, general wellbeing checks (blood pressure and body measurement checks), cancer awareness and a day focused on creating a self-care plan. It was great to see so many of our staff and our sub-contractors get involved over the week, and we are so thankful to all of our external visitors who all kindly gave up some time for us over the week.
