UMHAN UK are pleased to share our latest research report - 'The role and benefits of Mental Health Advisers in Higher Education: an exploratory study' written by Dr. Rachel Spacey, UMHAN's Policy and Engagement Officer. This small-scale research study on the role and impact of Mental Health Advisers (MHAs) in UK Higher Education (HE) consisted of a review of the literature, focus groups with MHAs and a survey of students who had received support from a MHA whilst at university. This exploratory research study is an important first step detailing what it is MHAs do and the ways in which they support students in HE. We hope it will pave the way to a larger research and evaluation project in collaboration with academic partners. Please get in touch if you are interested in knowing more! We are also keen that this study increases general awareness of MHAs and their work within HE institutions. If you have 5 minutes to spare, we have a Research Summary and the full report is also available on our Publications page: https://lnkd.in/ekpp48rq
