🚜 Farmers are at the heart of everything we do 🌱 Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to connect with farmers, landowners, and industry experts at the Ottawa Valley Farm Show - one of Eastern Ontario’s biggest agricultural events. From conversations about soil health and sustainable farming practices to discussing how wollastonite can support stronger, more resilient crops, it was amazing to speak with farmers who are leading the way in innovation and conservation. 💡 What we heard from farmers: ✅ A growing interest in wollastonite as a long-lasting, natural alternative to lime ✅ A focus on improving soil structure and nutrient availability for better yields ✅ Questions about how carbon sequestration can help unlock more opportunities for farms It was great to discuss how natural soil amendments like wollastonite might fit into existing farm practices and hear firsthand how farmers approach soil and crop health. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, we’re excited about what’s ahead! If you have any questions, reach out to the team in the comments below or via hello@un-do.com. #FarmersFirst #SoilHealth #SustainableFarming #CarbonRemoval #OttawaValleyFarmShow #EnhancedRockWeathering #Ontario #Ottowa #CarbonRemovalCanada #AgricultureCanada #SustainableFarming

Putting Carbon In Its Place
About us
UNDO is a world-leading carbon dioxide removal project developer specialising in enhanced rock weathering. Enhanced weathering is a nature-based technology that permanently locks away CO₂ from the atmosphere. The geological process of weathering has happened naturally for millions of years, removing billions of tonnes of CO₂ over Earth's history. UNDO accelerates this natural process by spreading crushed silicate rock with a high reactive surface area onto agricultural land, where plants and microbes in the soil speed up the weathering process. The breakdown of the rock by CO₂ dissolved in rainwater releases nutrients and bicarbonates, which end up in the oceans as solid carbonate minerals, permanently removing CO₂. Part of Microsoft and Stripe’s Carbon Portfolios, UNDO is scaling operations in the UK, Australia and Canada. The rock, a by-product of the aggregate and mining industry, is given to local farmers for free and spread on agricultural land using existing infrastructure. In addition to permanent, rapid and scalable carbon removals, UNDO’s holistic partnership model delivers significant co-benefits such as improved soil health, ocean deacidification and increased profits for farming communities.

🇨🇦 Helping Canadian Farmers Access Sustainable Soil Solutions 🇨🇦 Farmers face ongoing challenges in maintaining soil health while managing input costs. To support more sustainable, cost-effective alternatives, the City of Kingston has launched a Wollastonite Trucking Rebate, making it easier for Ontario’s farmers to switch to a long-lasting, locally sourced alternative to lime. In partnership with Canadian Wollastonite, we supply and spread wollastonite free of charge, with farmers simply covering the cost of trucking. With Kingston’s haulage rebate now contributing up to $5 per tonne, this initiative makes it even more accessible for farmers to adopt this science-backed soil amendment. Beyond its role in improving soil pH and crop yields, wollastonite also contributes to carbon removal through enhanced rock weathering, supporting both food security and climate goals. 💡 This initiative demonstrates how local programs can accelerate the adoption of nature-based solutions, delivering benefits for farmers, communities, and the environment. #CanadaAgriculture #Kingston #SustainableFarming #ClimateSolutions #SoilHealth #EnhancedRockWeathering #CarbonRemoval #CarbonRemovalCanada

🚀 One step closer to the XPRIZE Carbon Removal grand prize This month, we submitted our final XPRIZE entry, joining 19 other teams in the running for the $50M prize. Out of 1,300 teams from 88 countries, UNDO is proud to be among the finalists, now undergoing rigorous judging to measure our impact. Our challenge? Removing 1,000 net tonnes of CO₂ in the final year of the competition while proving that enhanced rock weathering can scale to megatonnes—and eventually gigatonnes—by 2050. Winners will be announced in April, so cross your fingers! 🤞 Meanwhile, on the ground: 🔬 We’re spotlighting our Sentinel Sites—real-world research hubs where we refine ERW measurement techniques using cutting-edge science. 🌍 Our teams are in the lab and the field across the UK and Canada, analysing soil and water samples to advance carbon removal verification. 🛠️ A new rotary splitter has arrived at our Glensaugh labs, helping process nearly 1,000 soil samples for analysis. 🌳 Not all mines are created equal - Canadian Wollastonite is proof of that. Our partner Canadian Wollastonite operates one of North America's most environmentally considerate mining sites, pioneering a greener way to source minerals for carbon removal. 🌱 Over 15,500 trees have been planted on-site, enhancing biodiversity. 🦆 Wetlands and nesting habitats have significantly boosted local populations of Purple Martins, ducks, and bats. 🐻 Less than 15% of the mine’s 220 hectares will ever be disturbed, leaving most of the land untouched for wildlife, including black bears, to roam freely. ☀️ Plans are underway to power operations through renewable energy, including new solar installations. Together, we’re not just removing carbon, we're actively improving ecosystems, supporting local wildlife, and proving responsible mining can coexist with nature. Check out the video below for a closer look at these wetlands and wildlife habitats in action 🌿🎥 #CarbonRemoval #EnhancedRockWeathering #Biodiversity #SustainableMining #ClimateAction #CanadianWollastonite #Sustainability

🌿 Canada holds enormous potential for carbon removal - and we're proud to play a part in making it happen. Last September, we officially launched our operations in Kingston, Ontario, deepening our partnership with Canadian Wollastonite. Together, we have an ambitious goal of spreading 50,000 tonnes of wollastonite across Ontario's agricultural lands this year, accelerating carbon removal through enhanced rock weathering. Our founder and CEO, Jim Mann, said it best: "Canada is rich in agricultural land and minerals. The potential for Canada to remove millions of tonnes of carbon per year is unmatched." Through partnerships like this, we're not only scaling vital carbon removal solutions but also supporting local economies and communities. Canada is uniquely positioned to lead the way in climate action, and we're excited to play our part. Thanks again to Kingston Economic Development Corporation for capturing and sharing this milestone moment. We're looking forward to working together to achieve Kingston’s ambitious goal of becoming a net-zero community by 2040.
