Why did we embrace AI in Prept. Foundation's rebrand? In Design Week Editor’s Picks, UnitedUs design director Carl Rylatt uncovers how the food education charity’s brand name is visualised in food. “The idea is our job. AI is a tool, and it’s only effective in the service of an idea.” With the brand idea always first, the tech can be used as a levelling-up tool. Many designers seem torn by Ai - excited by its potential and worried about what it might mean for their jobs. For UnitedUs design director Carl Rylatt, it's "a levelling up tool" that can help smaller organisations punch above their weight creatively. And so for its Prept. Foundation rebrand, the team had no hesitation is using Ai to create a series of striking images. “I know there are absolute purists around Ai who say, ‘If you use it, you are dead to me’,” Carl says. “I get it – we’re all worried. But at the same time, you can’t deny its existence, and its power. “It’s about the client, it’s not about me. Preparing fruitful futures for food culture in the UK with Prept. Foundation. Service! 🛎️ UnitedUs poured our love of engaging food experiences into Prept, a foundational brand that prepares kids to get cooking. We crafted an impactful name and identity to establish the Sussex-based organisation as a brand capable of scaling across the nation. The educational charity is now better equipped to inspire a new generation through food. Huge thanks to Prept founders Jessica Aggarwal and Daniel Wade!
