  • At Unity, it’s our mission to help create a better society and our employees actively volunteer in their communities to help make a positive difference.   As we come to the end of January, here’s a look back at some recent volunteering we took part in, in aid of Birmingham City Mission, which gives support to vulnerable people across the city.   Unity CEO Colin Fyfe and our finance team helped to wrap Christmas presents for families in need, in support of the charity’s ToyLink 2024 initiative. During the Christmas period, the project donated gifts to 1,700 families to help them through the festive season.   Staff volunteering is an integral part of our company values, and we were so pleased to support this important project, which helped to deliver some festive cheer to those most in need.    Read more about the Birmingham City Mission ToyLink project here: https://lnkd.in/ezSBu63z   #ethicalbanking #volunteering #community #charity

  • Delivering a vital frontline service, dentists play a crucial role in their communities. We are delighted to have provided a six-figure loan to an entrepreneurial dentist in Glasgow, enabling him to acquire his first practice.   Liam McLaughlin recently purchased Avondale Dental Practice in East Kilbridge, and has committed to investing in new technology to improve services for its 6,500 patients, while empowering its workforce through valuable training and development opportunities.   Liam said: “I’ve always had an entrepreneurial streak and having been an associate dentist for 11 years – including nine years at Avondale - I had a clear idea of how I wanted to achieve the best workflow and patient experience at my own practice.”   Jordan Hady, Relationship Manager at Unity Trust Bank, said: “Avondale is a long-established practice that has been providing exceptional patient care for many years. Liam has exciting plans to build on this and it’s been a pleasure supporting him with this purchase.”   To read the full story, visit: https://lnkd.in/ecjjSM7u

  • Did you know? 10 years ago, Unity Trust Bank became the first UK bank to receive the Fair Tax Mark 💚   Unity’s Chief Financial Officer Penny Hogan recently caught up with the Fair Tax Foundation to chat through the importance of this accreditation and why it means so much to us.   Penny explained how businesses with the #FairTaxMark can “join a network of like-minded organisations that are proud to promote responsible tax conduct and financial transparency, and help to highlight the critical contribution this makes to society”.   As an ethical bank, Unity’s values ensure we act in a way that helps to deliver positive outcomes for customers, staff, stakeholders and communities.   Read the Q&A in full via: https://lnkd.in/eudhn6uU   #ethicalbanking #unitytrustbank #ESG
