Do you have an idea for a project to enhance student experience? The Student Partnership Agreement Funding Scheme is offering £1,000 to staff and students to work together!

Are you a practising engineer with at least three years’ experience post-graduation who would be willing to share your experiences with our first year engineering students? We're inviting expressions of interest for Interview an Engineer – an activity run as part of our Engineering Principles first year course. This would involve being interviewed by small groups of students (30-45-minute time commitment), helping them explore what it means to be an engineer and providing them with valuable first-hand insights into your professional experiences. Interviews will take place by video call before Friday 11 October 2024 and you would need to be contactable by email in w/c 30 September 2024 to allow the interview to be scheduled. Congrats student society Edinburgh University Formula Student for winning six FS-AI prizes at Silverstone! For their seventh year competing at the IMechE Formula Student UK competition, they used #AI skills to leverage vision models for detecting the track around the autonomously driving vehicle and a neural network for cone colour allocation, then deployed on edge computing devices to achieve a real-time inference.
