🎙 In our latest podcast, we listen back to the breakfast panel debate from the inaugural unLTD Business Expo. The discussion centred around the Labour government's pledge to devolve more power to regional mayoral authorities in areas such as transport, skills and planning, with the hope it provides an economic boost. Held in front of a live audience at Magna Science Adventure Centre, the panel was hosted by James Marriott 🎧🎙️ and included Louisa Harrison-Walker (Chief Executive, Sheffield Chamber of Commerce), Alice Rubbra (Assistant Director of Growth, Business and Skills at South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority) and Barney Mynott (Federation of Small Businesses (FSB)). Check it out... Phil Turner

We need some help for our next event on November 27th! We're hosting a Business Breakfast with CMS UK and will be exploring the topic of what Gen Z wants from employment, how it may differ from previous generations, and how to leverage Gen Z’s undoubted potential. We need some Gen Zers to take part, to talk about their experiences in the workplace and hear their point of view at the panel! We're looking for: a Gen Z entrepreneur, a Gen Zer in long term employment (2+ years) and an employer who's worked with/employed lots of Gen Z employees. We will discuss and explore the topic, to understand if this simply is a normal generation gap issue, or is there something fundamentally different about Gen Z that means businesses will have to adapt to both accommodate and prosper from the millions currently entering the workplace. If you want to help, take part and discuss at our panel, or perhaps know someone who may fit the bill, message Phil Turner 😀

unLTD Business reposted this
What an incredible day! We’re absolutely blown away by the amazing support we’ve received for the launch of our new store at Kilner Way Retail Park. From the early birds eagerly waiting at our doors at 9:00am to everyone who joined us throughout the day – thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The morning kicked off with a heartfelt speech from our Head of Retail, Jenny Booth. Then, our St Luke’s Ambassador, Michael King, shared his personal experience of the care his wife Michelle received at St Luke’s, before joining our Kilner Way shop manager, Emma Hawnt, to cut the ribbon and officially open the store. The excitement didn’t end there! We were thrilled to be featured on BBC Breakfast’s Look North bulletin, which included an interview with Will Cooper, our Kilner Way Area Manager, showcasing the shop and emphasising our vital work. The opening was also highlighted on BBC Radio Sheffield and featured on the BBC News website! This year, we need to raise £10.5m of the £14m it costs to continue our vital work. Our retail chain is essential to achieving this, providing nearly a third of the funds we rely on. We’re so excited to embark on this new venture, and we couldn’t do it without your incredible support. #CharityRetail #NewStore #ShopOpening

"Trust is built habitually. What I mean by that is, you don’t earn trust overnight. When people come to me for help, it’s because I’ve built a business on trust, and a reputation on the back of that business being successful." It’s a building which has stood in Sheffield city centre for well over a century and now the former Salvation Army Citadel has been acquired by Sheffield City Council. Surrounded by exciting developments that have already transformed the city centre, including the Heart of the City project, we wonder what's in store for this iconic building...
