We are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for the next generation. That’s why we are partnering with Edinburgh College to provide students with hands-on experience, bridging the gap between the classroom and the world of work. This week, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen that partnership, which Urban Union and Robertson Construction Central East will implement. It follows a MOU that we signed with City of Glasgow College last year, which saw 19 students take part in work placements, with three students gaining full-time employment. We are looking forward to working with Edinburgh College to continue to widen access to careers in construction and make sure that training and education aligns with industry needs. This morning, our generous volunteers, led by Managing Director Neil McKay and Social Impact Manager David McAlister, participated in the first Laurieston Living litter pick. Not only did they do a fantastic job on one of the sunniest days of the year, but the event also brought together a diverse range of Urban Union staff. It allowed them to interact and engage with one another on a social level whilst sharing a laugh and stories with their wider team. What a fantastic team effort for a great cause! Laurieston Living is set to shine beautifully again today! Thanks to the entire Urban Union team who volunteered.

Social Impact Team! We recently welcomed David McAlister to Urban Union as our new Social Impact Manager. David has been busy planning new initiatives, collaborating with our site and sales teams to develop meaningful solutions for the community, and cultivating community engagement, which is central to our plans. Regardless of the scale of our initiatives, we are eager to highlight the efforts of our Team and demonstrate the importance of our community-first vision. In response to the recent Storm Eowyn, our dedicated Urban Union volunteers will participate in a litter pick at Laurieston Living this Thursday. With litter sacks in hand, they will work to ensure the development returns to litter-free, clean, tidy and looking its best.
