We were thrilled to collaborate with Darren Kennedy and the team at Lovell Partnerships Ltd on behalf of Hafod Housing Association for their Lansdowne Road project. As part of this exciting development, we provided structural engineering services for several blocks within the new build. The project will transform the former hospital site, with plans for 106 energy-efficient homes, including 44 houses and 62 apartments spread across three buildings. Our team played a key role in the substructure design for three buildings, including piles, ground beams, lift pits, and plinths; supporting a beam and block floor design, with a Metek Plc superstructure. 🎉 Reserved Matters Approval has been secured for 26 100% affordable homes located at the SA1 Waterfront, in Swansea! GJP are delighted to announce that Swansea Council have given delegated approval to grant reserved matters approval for 26 100% affordable homes in the SA1 Waterfront in Swansea. The planning application was reported to the Council’s Planning Committee where it was subsequently determined to be approved subject to the completion of a S106 Agreement. The proposed development will be delivered by Beacon Cymru Group (formerly Coastal Housing Group) and will comprise a mix of 2-bed and 3-bed units. This development forms part of the wider redevelopment of the SA1 Waterfront in Swansea, and the site itself boasts an excellent location that fronts onto the Prince of Wales dock. Demolition has started at Moat Farm, a 7-unit site we’re delivering for our client, Newydd Housing Association . The design of this scheme is distinct from our typical developments, as it has been tailored to align with the character of the local area. The site will feature aluminium standing seam roofs, vertical cladding, and open timber-effect louvres, creating a contemporary look that complements the surroundings. This project has presented some logistical challenges due to site constraints, requiring careful planning of vehicle sizes and delivery schedules. However, we are excited to see this scheme come to life. This scheme is supported by funding from the Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government and the Vale of Glamorgan Council, reflecting a shared commitment to delivering high-quality, affordable housing for local communities. Phased Scheme Update: We’ve been working on a phased development for St David's Hospice (North Wales) in collaboration with DEWIS architecture, and we’ve recently completed a detailed analysis of the existing steel frame structure. The goal was to assess and design the necessary structural alterations to facilitate a new open-plan layout.
