As part of Valero's commitment to its communities, we donate to key charities around all of our Terminal operations across the UK. We recently donated £4,000 to the RNLI Angle Lifeboat in Pembrokeshire, on behalf of our employees at Valero Pembrokeshire Oil Terminal (VPOT). Valero's Manager Public and Government Affairs William James presented a cheque to Jordan Harbin, the RNLI's Fundraising and Partnership Manager, along with volunteers from Angle. Jordan said, "On behalf of the RNLI, I would like to thank Valero for their continued support and the generous donations they’ve made to lifeboat stations in Pembrokeshire for nearly 20 years. Without fuel and donations, our lifeboats and crew can’t go to sea and save lives."

Public and Government Affairs Specialist (Full-time)   Salary: up to £42,000 per annum (depending on experience) + benefits Experience: 2-3 years (preferred) in public/government affairs/communications or similar role. Location: London Valero Energy Ltd is looking for a talented individual to provide government affairs support to their UK and Ireland businesses, as well as supporting media relations and community engagement activities. The role sits within the Public and Government Affairs Department in London, alongside colleagues in Pembroke, Dublin, Washington D.C. and San Antonio, Texas. Reporting to the Manager Public and Government Affairs, the successful candidate will support Valero’s advocacy efforts, working to advance business objectives across a range of regulatory and policy areas. The role requirements are: Support the Manager to provide government affairs support for company’s UK and Ireland operations, including managing agency teams and drafting correspondence. Represent the company externally, attending meetings with government, political, trade association and other industry stakeholders. Organise and coordinate external facing activities, including arranging meetings/conference events. Demonstrate a detailed understanding of public policy, liaising with subject matter experts to develop company positions. Includes producing briefing materials and drafting responses to government consultations on various policy matters. Assist in day-to-day media relations, including monitoring media coverage, responding to press enquiries and writing press releases. Also, sharing out-of-hours media duty roster duties and supporting emergency response communications for pipelines and terminals business. Administer charitable and community engagement outreach. An amazing £4,817 was raised for VPOT’s charity of the year, Wales Air Ambulance Charity • Elusen Ambiwlans Awyr Cymru. We are pleased to announce an extended agreement with Gardner Garages for four of their service stations. The family run business recently invested over £1.1 million in refurbishment for their Huntley Services Station, and have switched Huntley to the Valero brand. The station also includes a new Budgens-branded outlet, internal laundry and a walk-in beer cave. Gardner Garages last week relaunched its forecourt in Huntley, Gloucestershire after a £1.1 million refurbishment that doubled the size of the shop, and introduced a jet wash bay, electric vehicle charging, an internal laundry, and a walk-in beer cave.
