VAUXHALL CORSA ELECTRIC NAMED ‘BEST VALUE CAR’ AT 2025 PARKERS AWARDS The 2025 Parkers Awards focused on electrification, with particular attention to value-for-money options in the expanding EV market. Vauxhall was praised by the judges for our work on creating a market where electric and ICE vehicles have price parity, with Corsa Electric YES Editions cited as a great example of how affordable electric cars can be to own. We thank the Parkers judges for this accolade. The introduction of the special edition Corsa Electric YES Edition was designed to make Vauxhall’s electric models more accessible, featuring eye-catching styling, from the GS version, with exclusive Record Red paint and a contrasting black roof. Vauxhall has subsequently introduced a new pricing structure for the Corsa Electric, Astra Electric and Astra Sports Tourer Electric, supporting its efforts to make electric mobility attainable for all, as well as recently revealing the New Frontera Electric and New Frontera Hybrid will both be available for the same list price, becoming the first manufacturer in the UK to offer list price parity between electric and petrol hybrid versions of the same car. Vauxhall has partnered with Cenex - the Centre of Excellence for Low Carbon and Fuel Cell Technology to assess the effectiveness of current metrics used to measure the coverage of public electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Vauxhall's Managing Director, James Taylor joined the Cenex Expo to share Vauxhall plans to support the UK’s transition towards electrification  In an exclusive new report, Vauxhall and Cenex find that current electric vehicle infrastructure (EVI) targets are too wide in scope, and should be based on more detailed, precise metrics to ensure a true reflection of progress in regions across the country. In response, the report suggests three new metrics found to be more effective to track progress across three types of public charging: Near Home Charging, Destination Charging and Journey Charging.   The new report comes as part of Vauxhall’s Electric Streets of Britain campaign, to support the acceleration of the UK’s charging infrastructure, helping to make EV charging more accessible for drivers across the country. The report includes a new Metric Dashboard that allows drivers to see how their area ranks for access to EV charging using the new suggested metrics. Over 11,000 streets have now been submitted, by the public, to Vauxhall’s Electric Streets of Britain database, launched last year to help councils identify where the need for on-street charging is strongest across the country. Vauxhall launched Electric Streets of Britain to help ensure all drivers could make the switch to electric, specifically supporting the 40% of UK households without a driveway. Our latest research shows that 56.5% of local authorities still do not have a published residential charging strategy in place. Vauxhall will be working with its three Electric Streets partners – char.gy, Connected Kerb, and SureCharge – to share the data collected so far via the Electric Streets database with local councils, helping them to prioritise investment in residential charging solutions where local residents need it most. Available from launch in Design and GS trims, the New Frontera is a rugged, spacious and affordable family sized SUV with electric and petrol hybrid versions both available from £23,495 OTR. Not only is this a UK first for any car maker, but it is an important milestone in Vauxhall’s ambition to make electric mobility accessible for all.
