The World Maritime Forum is underway in Copenhagen, and it has been a busy day for the V. team. Earlier this afternoon, Ulla Eithz Nielsen, MD of V.Ships Germany and Denmark, gave a presentation on the Future of Ship Management, which focused on the impact of digital platforms and the importance of maintaining a strong commitment to customer focus and wellbeing for the long term evolution of our industry. Ulla subsequently participated in a panel discussion entitled ‘Caring for the Crew: Ensuring Seafarers' Health and Safety’. The panel – consisting of Ulla, Søren Wraae Bendixen, Charlotte Nørholm Dyhr, Christine M., Hanne Buje Jensen and Simon Grainge, together with moderator Irene Rosberg – discussed a range of crew-related challenges facing our industry, including mental health and isolation, onboard safety, fair working conditions and emergency support. Thanks to all panellists for an interesting debate. Meanwhile, the rest of Team V. – Karen Martin, Veronica Mutelica, Dan (Daniel-Sorin) Coman, Cesare Paulone, Tino Rizzo, Peter Faurhøj, Omer Al-Sallami, Lucas Franke, Per Kristensen and Stefan Persson – were on hand to speak to customers and enquirers at the V. exhibition stand. Thank you to the #WMF2025 organisers for an excellent first day. We will be back tomorrow for day 2. 📷 Stefan Persson

V.Group is proud to be a strategic partner of the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping (MMMCZCS).    Today, MMMCZCS and Lloyd's Register, the Maritime Decarbonisation Hub (The Decarb Hub) have published new reports to help meet the upskilling needs of an estimated future 800,000 seafarers as the industry transitions to alternative fuels.   With the maritime industry under pressure to reduce carbon emissions, ammonia is gaining popularity as a promising alternative fuel. However, many are unaware of the unique hazards associated with ammonia, including toxicity, flammability, and material incompatibility, and how to handle it safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally responsible manner. Matt Dunlop, V.’s Group Director, Sustainability & Decarbonisation and representative at the MMMCZCS, recognises the importance of the latest reports:   “With the industry’s focus on new fuels and the consideration of ammonia, the human factor challenges need to be addressed to prepare our seafarers for ammonia-fuelled ship operations.  These latest reports, under the “Ammonia as Fuel – Competencies and Training” project, detail the minimum regulatory requirements, basic and advanced competencies for seafarers, and role-specific training for onboard and shore-based personnel.” Read the reports: https://lnkd.in/dCi2t2xd And the press release from MMMCZCS and Lloyd’s Register:  https://lnkd.in/ds4fKnWf #ZeroCarbonShipping
