“If you could buy anything in the world for your friends what would it be?” Jasmin Sanghera, a Community Manager here at Virgin Money sat down with pupils at the Make £5 Grow graduation in our Edinburgh Store to talk about their experience and ask some important money questions! What is Make £5 Grow? The concept is simple, Virgin Money loans a school £5 for every pupil who takes part. Each pupil then uses that £5 to set up their own small business and turn a fiver into profit. Just some of the answers we got when we asked pupils from local schools what they would buy with £1,000.     They were at our Edinburgh store for the day as part of our Make £5 Grow programme. Now in its thirteenth year, Make £5 Grow continues to encourage children to embrace their entrepreneurial skills, and make them happier about money.    The concept is simple. 📣 This June, who will walk away as the Steps Challenge champion? This month, members of our Leadership Team go head-to-head in our #MilesForMentalHealth step challenge to fundraise for our brilliant charity partners, Mind and SAMH.    Allegra Patrizi (ex van Hovell), David Duffy, James Peirson, Sarah Wilkinson, and Syreeta Brown, Chartered FCIPD will all be trying to clock up as many steps – and pounds raised – as possible from Monday 10 June to Sunday 23 June. But they can’t do it on their own, so they’ll each be captaining a team of colleagues in this step showdown.     All funds raised will be matched by at least 50% and the team that achieves the most steps will have their donations 200% matched (yep, you read that right 👀) so there’s a lot to step for.     There are currently 1.9 million people waiting for mental health support. We all want a future where having a mental health problem doesn’t mean waiting lists, stigma and isolation. Mind and SAMH are fighting for that.
