This week is National Inclusion Week 📢 Let's highlight what we're striving for via our theme of Equity and Inclusion ⬇ "A future where it’s easy for people to give their time and energy to the causes they care about, they feel welcomed, and the benefits are equally distributed." Considering how this should feel for volunteers is vital. By 2032 we want to hear statements like... ➡"Wherever I chose to volunteer, I’m confident that I will be welcome and won’t experience discrimination." ➡"I am supported to have full access to volunteering opportunities." ➡"I’m confident that if I raise concerns about discrimination or inequity that I will be taken seriously by others." https://lnkd.in/gJtaxPjT For all of you involving and supporting volunteers, what might improved Equity and Inclusion feel like for you? One of the five themes of the Vision for Volunteering is collaboration. This means that we want to see a future where collaboration is natural and spontaneous, and people do great stuff together because they want to. 🙌 In the spirit of this theme, our friends and partners at Department for Culture, Media and Sport along with Policy Lab UK would like to invite you to participate in an online Collective Intelligence Debate on how the UK government can support partnerships and engagement that support volunteering. This is taking place over this week (16-23 September) 🗓 The project aims to explore how various parts of the volunteering system—government, public, private, and voluntary sectors—collaborate and how these relationships can be better supported. Engage as much or as little as you like - around 1 hour total over the week - where you'll vote on short statements and share your ideas anonymously 💡 If you have anything at all to do with supporting volunteering, you are invited to get involved in the discussion: whether you’re a volunteer-involver, community group, activist, trustee, funder, social enterprise, infrastructure organisation, researcher, local authority, government, volunteer centre, influencer, student, charity leader, event organiser, helper, CVS, youth leader or more! Hopefully you've seen the fantastic news that our CEO Amanda Naylor OBE is to become the Co-Chair of Vision for Volunteering, together with Ruth Leonard Chair of the Association of Volunteer Managers. Amanda said: “I am thrilled to take on the co-chair role of Vision of Volunteering through this next crucial phase. #VisionForVolunteering partnership board has a wealth of strong and committed leaders in the sector and I’m looking forward to working with Ruth and the wider partnership to achieve our ambitions aims.”

Exciting Announcement: New Co-Chairs for Vision for Volunteering! We are thrilled to welcome Amanda Naylor OBE, Chief Executive of Volunteering Matters, and Ruth Buchanan Leonard, Chair of the Association of Volunteer Managers, as the new Co-Chairs of Vision for Volunteering! This follows a strategic regrouping and the launch of our refreshed strategy to redefine the volunteering landscape by 2032. Vision for Volunteering is working alongside the sector to redefine the volunteering landscape and enhance volunteer experiences by 2032, no matter how you volunteer. Creating volunteering environments that are inclusive, agile, and available to all and drive forward shared values of social equity, community-led initiatives and increasing civil society aims. Our work revolves around five key themes: 1. Awareness and Appreciation 2. Power 3. Equity and Inclusion 4. Collaboration 5. Experimentation Amanda and Ruth bring a wealth of experience and are passionate about fostering a supportive infrastructure for volunteer-led initiatives. Their focus will be on strengthening the volunteer movement, engaging more organisations, and collaborating with government and policymakers on the future of volunteering.
