70% of students from the 2023 Futures Academy - our cross-market programme with London Market Group - said they had a good understanding of specialty insurance post-programme, up from 4% pre-programme. How did we do it? By reaching 1,200 students through outreach in 50 schools. Creating bespoke A-level learning resources downloaded 500+ times. Working with 100+ volunteers from more than 30 specialty insurance employers over a two-week programme. And delivering 600 work experience days with 35 host employers. Think apprenticeships don't work for small businesses? Here's proof they can... Over the past couple of years we've worked with Walk-In Media on three apprentice intakes, receiving more than 460 applications and hiring eight apprentices for their full-service media agency. Their CEO, Simon Davis, says it best: “Working with Visionpath has allowed us access to an excellent network of talented, enthusiastic school leavers with huge future potential, which has so far led to the hiring of eight apprentices. Another week, another group of apprentices setting out on their new careers with one of our partners 🙌🏻 Great to see five new apprentices join the Policy team at Ofcom this week. We can’t wait to see them develop in their new roles and build their future careers with the UK’s communications regulator. They’ve been part of our 10-month early careers programme with Ofcom, starting with in-school outreach leading into insight days, career mentoring and skills development, before being interviewed and selected for their new apprenticeships. Since 2022, our partnership with Ofcom has seen over 30 diverse school leavers join the organisation as apprentices across a range of roles and teams - from Policy and Legal, to Economics and Data. One of the absolute joys of my work is seeing young people on our programmes set out on their new careers with our partners. And this week, Mars welcomed their first cohort of apprentices from their partnership with Visionpath! In 2023 we launched Building Bright Futures, a new early careers programme unlocking exciting apprenticeships at Mars Wrigley in Slough, for school leavers from diverse backgrounds. The programme has seen us: 🏫 Deliver workshops in schools connecting with hundreds of Year 13s to help them learn about Mars and see their future in one of their apprenticeships. 💡Bring students into interactive Insight & Assessment days to give them hands-on experience of life at Mars and showcase their skills. 💬 Connected students with over 30 Mars mentors, delivering over 200 hours of mentoring to support students’ career development, plus other experiences to build skills for their future career. This week, the programme culminated in 13 apprentices joining Mars in roles like engineering, operations, sales, marketing and finance🎉🎉🎉 Having worked closely with Mars on this programme I know the apprentices are joining a company with a great culture and an environment where they’ll learn and thrive. Definitely bright futures ahead (pun entirely intended).
