As part of our commitment to making England the most accessible destination in Europe, our Accessibility and Inclusion Lead, Ross Calladine, spoke to travel agents’ and tour operators’ associations from across Europe at ECTAA’s conference recently about the opportunities available for tour operators and agents in developing accessible itineraries to appeal to their customers and grow inbound visits to England. As well as being good for visitors with access requirements, accessibility also brings rewards for travel and tourism businesses too, with disabled people and their companions contributing £14.6 billion to the English visitor economy each year (aka #purplepound).
