Do operators have the best job in the world or the hardest? 🤔 “I think I have the best job, because I’m stimulated every single day.” We were lucky enough to chat about everything operator-related with Mateusz Kapciak, Head of Operations and Business Development at Bubble CiTea. 🧋 Mateusz has certainly had his hands full overseeing the brand’s exciting growth journey over the last couple of years - and he shared some fascinating insights into the day-to-day life of an operator at a scaling business. 🤝 On trusting his team: “In a room of 12 people I don’t have all the best ideas. So they came up with it. I’m here to execute it and deliver it for them, and for the teams.” 👱 On hiring Gen-Z: “It’s so different because the employees that we hire these days, they don’t need that job; you need them.” 🌱 On his journey to operations: “I started flipping burgers, that was my very first job. I never wanted to manage people, never wanted to manage business. But then one of my managers spotted talent in me and asked me, would you like to do this?” Read all Mateusz’s insights in the full interview here: https://hubs.la/Q02TBGYJ0

🚀 Embracing change: a journey of transformation at Wasabi Sushi and Bento 🍣 We're excited to share an inspiring video featuring Chris Scarth, IT Director at Wasabi Sushi & Bento, who discusses his team's transformative journey over the past year. Chris recognised that to keep pace with the competition, Wasabi needed an overhaul of its tech stack. He faced the challenge of persuading the company to leapfrog competitors already using cutting-edge customer-facing technology. Today, every Wasabi location is equipped with a modern, efficient POS that elevates the customer experience—an achievement that gives our partnership immense pride. What sets this partnership apart? It’s a shared vision. Chris’s background in the mobile industry taught him the importance of enabling customers to interact with businesses in the way they prefer. This principle is crucial, no matter the industry. He found a like-minded partner in Vita Mojo, whose commitment to enhancing the hospitality experience resonates deeply with his own values. Watch the video to hear Chris’s insights on innovation, customer experience, and the power of collaboration. Together, we can shape the future of hospitality! #CustomerExperience #DigitalTransformation #Innovation #Hospitality #POS #Collaboration

Our Mojis take on the ultimate challenge: Tough Mudder! 💪 We’re proud of our mojis who recently completed a Tough Mudder—a gruelling 15k race with 20 intense obstacles, from crawling through mud to enduring electric shocks and plunging into ice-cold water—all while raising money for the charity Only a Pavement Away. Here’s what our brave mojis had to say about their experience: 👟 What made you sign up for Tough Mudder? “After doing a tough mudder last year, I thought it would be a great opportunity to get a group together and raise money for a charity in the hospitality industry, something we are all passionate about at Vita Mojo. I wanted to challenge myself outside of my comfort zone, and doing it alongside my mojis was the ultimate team bonding experience!” Amy O'Neill ⛰ What was the best part of the experience? “The best part of the Tough Mudder 15K experience was the way we all came together as a team, each contributing our unique strengths to tackle the different obstacles. Some of us were great at the endurance challenges, while others helped with strategy or brute strength, and that collaboration made the difference. Being out in nature, away from the usual work setting, gave us a fresh perspective and made the whole experience even more rewarding. It was a perfect blend of teamwork and adventure.” Mo Dajani ❄ What was the worst moment? “Definitely the skip full of ice-cold water! It was a shock to the system, but also gave us a good laugh afterwards at some of the screams.” James Miller ⚡ How did you feel about the obstacles involving electric shocks? “The electric shocks were scary! It was one of those ‘Why am I doing this?’ moments, but we pushed through as a team!” Amy O'Neill “My new life lesson is; don't wade in water dodging electric currents, otherwise one will hit your head and you will blackout!!” Nick Liddle 🤗 How did the team bond through this experience? “There’s nothing quite like crawling through mud and swimming through freezing cold water to bring people together. We were all encouraging each other throughout the course, we started as a team and finished as a team.” Becca Painter 🔁 Would you do it again? “Yes, I would - I can't wait to do it again next year. Don't get me wrong, when I fell over for the 20th time and at mile 8 it felt terrible; but as soon as we crossed the finish line I was ready to go around again (after inhaling a burger). It's so much fun; and is such a great challenge for your own mental toughness. You CAN do it. And you should - join us next year!” Leslie McArdle Congratulations to the team for their resilience and teamwork and for raising over £500 for a great cause! 🌟 #toughmudder #hospitality #onlyapavementaway

Is your restaurant tech stack actually boosting growth—or holding you back? 🤔 It’s worth taking some time to pause and think about it. When you’ve been working with the same tech for years, it’s easy to become blind to how it might be hindering rather than helping. So, it’s never a bad time to review your setup and ensure you’re getting the growth you envisioned. Not sure where to start? Here are four key areas to consider: 📈 Efficiency – is your tech actually saving you and your team time? 📊 Data – can you easily access reporting that reflects your whole operation? ⏱️ Agility – are you able to operate with an agile team that improves the customer experience? 🤖 Scaling – will the tech scale with your business or will it cause complexities as you grow? Tech should make life easier, and your business more profitable. If it’s not delivering that, you won’t be able to grow. Learn more about analysing the benefits your tech delivers in our latest blog: https://hubs.la/Q02SKjt30

Subscriptions, Sabrina Carpenter and some viral matcha 👀 It’s been quite the year for the coffee shop industry so far. ☕ How can coffee brands make sure they’re standing out with all this going on? At the lunch! and Casual Dining shows, experts from across coffee, bubble tea and bakery brands all shared their insights into growing a business and staying competitive. 🤖 “You can never replace a human – the person who knows your order is an oat flat white. But I can boost efficiency through tech, and by being open-minded about things to come.” - Shereen Ritchie, CEO of buns from home. 🌍 “The Northwest is underestimated. It’s the scene of coffee and food to go, and it’s got a bigger appetite than people realise.” Russell Simpson, Operations Director of The Coffee House. ☕ “How do we ensure that every customer who comes into Costa has a fantastic experience? It's been a week since our Vita Mojo Innovators event! 🥂 We had such a great time sharing conversations and insights (and cocktails) with forward-thinking, inspiring hospitality leaders like Mateusz Kapciak from Bubble CiTea.🧋 Mateusz's question about data (👇) reflects the kind of discussions that took place, and it's an important question to consider. As we move into the busy festive period, now's the time to make sure your operation is equipped to make those data-driven decisions, quickly. You don't want to be wasting time just trying to access the data you need in the moment. ..

Had a great time at the Vita Mojo Innovators event last night! It was inspiring to be surrounded by forward-thinking leaders, all eager to share and explore new ideas. Among the many stimulating conversations, one in particular stuck with me: we often focus on obtaining granular data in our businesses, but the real question is, how are we using it? As business leaders, it’s essential not just to collect data but to create environments where our teams are empowered to interpret and act on it. Data-driven decision-making should be at the heart of daily operations, allowing our teams to confidently take action that drives growth and innovation. I resonate with Nick Popovici words 'to innovate we have to take small steps continuously', innovation in QSR has to continue. How is your organisation using data to make better decisions?
